I got COVID December 2021, had a stuffy sounding head, felt a little dizzy the night before, woke up without any taste or smell. Felt completely fine, just no taste or smell. I feel that a person's own immune response is the best form of protection. This virus is strange and it affects people very differently. Some have no symptoms, others have drastic, and some die. I think in the beginning we should have let people get exposed and let their body build it's own immune response and move on. This is how we have dealt with every other virus out there. If they get real sick and need medical attention, then give it. Hydroxychloroquine was there and proven effective. The pharmaceutical companies wanted to make their billions and that they are. Unfortunately their plan worked. Those that got sick and recovered just fine should have been able to go about life without a mask and without a vaccine. I have been around many people who had covid. I was coughed on during a football game for two hours by a man who had covid. I was with a person all day that was sick with covid later that same day . I have been exposed and nothing. Some will wear their masks, get the vaccine, hide in their homes, avoid people, sanitize every surface, over wash their hands, and still get covid. The vaccines are not a vaccine, they do not prevent you from getting and shedding the virus. It clearly does not make sense. The vaccine has been pushed and companies that require employees to get vaccinated are treating those employees that don't get the vaccine cruel. We live in a culture that is all about inclusiveness, except for those unvaccinated.
One entire year post covid and my taste and smell have not been fully restored. In fact I wouldn't even say 50%, maybe close to 25%. It is an odd thing and it has been something that I have grown accustomed to. Some things are really sad, like not being able to smell the sweet fresh smell of a newborn, the lovely smells of fresh flowers, fresh cut hay, cologne, bubble bath, and freshly baked items. On a positive note, I don't smell stinky manure, dirty litter boxes, rotting dumpsters, and rotten food. I can smell strong odors like smoke, skunk, and strong items cooking, however it all has the same smell. Nothing smells like it should. Food is enjoyable because I can still experience sweet, sour, salty, and bitter, however things don't taste like they should. I miss eating carrots, celery, watermelon, bananas, and strawberries. Now they all taste bad to me. I am still hopeful I can get it all back.
