Changes at The Mall & Modern VS

It makes me so sad to see that malls are shrinking and stores are closing. Ames and Fort Dodge  lost Younkers and that really affected the mall. The Fort Dodge is now a pile of rubble. Des Moines is holding on with a huge empty space where Younkers closed its doors. The mall has been affected by big companies like Walmart and now the online companies, in particular Amazon. You can order just about anything online and people can buy a whole new wardrobe without even leaving their home. Malls are still hanging on and some people including myself get satisfaction in shopping, seeing, touching, and trying on clothing. The mall has also started pushing its political agendas. Now store fronts promote the liberal lifestyles that our culture has embraced so quickly. Today was the first time I saw a store window display with a same sex couple cuddled together with rainbows and the Pride word. Another store I went to swipe my credit card and the screen showed a rainbow with "love is love" and a same couple banner before it allowed me to enter my payment. It is propaganda everywhere you look. Why is this part of my shopping experience? I used to love the mall and look forward to shopping. We also had our mask mandate lifted by the Governor, therefore shopping should be mask free. Most stores you can walk in, shop, try on clothing, and masks don't exist. I had a return to American Eagle, I was stopped at the door, told I had to wear a mask to enter. I won't shop in stores that require masking up. Once again this took away from the joy of shopping. Throughout the mall it was close to 50/50 people with and without masks. I don't understand why anyone is wearing masks at this point. While I am feeling the freedom of not having to wear one myself, yet I feel sorry for those people that have become trained to wearing one or are so fearful. I am not a fan of change and I am really not a fan of all this recent change of inclusiveness to transgenderism. We are all created in the image of good no matter the color of our skin, and we should celebrate different races and males and female differences. When God made humans wonderfully and perfectly, he didn't intend for them to go changing bodily form and function. VS is another to conform to modern culture  . I have always felt uncomfortable in a VS store because of the skimpy lingerie and the almost naked models. Now I am even more uncomfortable to the point, I will start to order online.  I have shopped there because they have the only type of bra that fits comfortably on my post surgery body. The store has always boasted the most stunning models like the three below.  They were of course gorgeous and slim. Now, they are boasting models of diverse ethnicity, super sizes and varying  sexual preference. I was shocked to see a same sex couple poster in the store window and promoting transgender models. How quickly things have changed! It is just too much for me! This has taken away my joy of mall shopping.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
