This week started with rain and ended with sunshine. On Tuesday I heard the weather radio exclaiming a tornado watch and before long a warning and we were in the path. I told Mark, who was at the shop and Jake who was in Dayton working. Mark sent his guys home and to various places to take shelter before coming home. I was tuned in to the television for minute by minute radar. The storm was moving northwest, which is so unusual. Our storms typically move east. It was just a little rainy, not much wind, and no dark clouds. It fizzled out and we managed to get 3.5 inches of rain. Karen and Orrie got 5 inches of rain, wind, and uprooted trees! They are only 5 miles away. Jake had a lot of excitement at work, moving cars into the shop, watching the sky, and taking cover in the pits. He took some video that showed rotation starting in the sky. It was an eerie day and we are all thankful it didn't amount to much. The heavy rains filled fields with ponds for miles. The perfect crop and planted fields will now have flooded ponds and areas of drowned out crops.
Mid-week Jayden went to a barrel race with a few other girls down in OK. She was happy with her run on Wes and was really figuring some things out.
Wednesday I went to Des Moines for an appointment. I had my first experience wearing a so called mask. I do not have a mask and do not plan to buy one or wear one. I grabbed a handkerchief and wrapped it around my face. I felt ridiculous and looked it too. It tickled my nose, made me itch and I touched it a ton because of that. I only had it on for 20 minutes. The only mask I hope to wear again is a virtual mask, it looks better too.
Thursday I worked at Overflow, had a chiro appointment, then met my Ames friends for our regular walk along the walking path. We talked for quite some time. There is so much to talk about with all the changes, and questions and waiting to hear if we will have swimming pools open, swim lessons, baseball games, county fair, state fair, summer camp, and church. The more I am out and about the more it annoys me to see people wearing masks. I have noticed more people wearing them instead of less. I truly think it is wrong to wear them unless you're in a medical clinic or immune compromised. Friday I met my friends Paula and Jess. It just happened to be back to back days meeting up and going on long walks with friends. We wanted to be there for Paula for moral support to come alongside her when she is sad and hurting. Jess brought food that we ordered from The second Street Emporium and we met at the Briggs Woods park. We sat in the sun overlooking the lake. After we ate, we walked nearly 7 miles along a paved curvy hilly path through the woods. It was a perfect day with great weather. Paula is really hurting from the loss of her dad, so we didn't talk about it much. It is too hard for her at this time.

Mark and his crew have been mowing hay and spraying fence rows. The boys have been mowing, and weed eating at the farms. They also wash trucks and semis often.
Saturday I spent most of the day outdoors. Mark and I rode horses in the evening. It was another lovely day! The bugs were not out and no wind. Sunny and 75 is my favorite! Our yard with all the trees and birds sounds like an orchestra, all singing so pretty.
One evening I gave Mark a haircut and Luke's second haircut. During so-called quarantine, hair salons and barbers are shut down. Crazy times cal for crazy solutions. I actually enjoy giving a haircut and I must say I do a decent job.
