JMO- Open Up Already. This has gone on too long. The shelter in place, social distancing, quarantine, social isolation, it is way over the top craziness. I am tired of it along with most of the country. There are those that live in fear, there are those that are immune suppressed and I understand the need to proceed with caution. However, this should be an individual decision, not a forced shut down. Each person has freedoms and each individual should decide for themselves whether they feel safe going to a restaurant, church, movie, concert, graduation, or swimming pool. Our country is being controlled and we are the puppets. Each day that passes like this, is creating enormous damage. Damage to our economy, the small business owners, every industry, people are abusing spouses, children, and mental illness is sky rocketing, along with suicide. There are people that are in need of serious medical help, surgery, cancer treatment that are being declined help or fearful to get help. People are dying that shouldn't. The deaths from the repercussions of COVID, I have no doubt are higher than the actual virus. Virus, yes that is what it is, a virus. How many times throughout my life have I gone to the doctor to hear the words, you have a virus? More times than when I was given a diagnosis. Millions have tested positive, most have no symptoms, some get mild sickness,, a few get severely sick, and a small number die. The flu virus has more illness and more victims, yet nobody fears it like this new virus.
You cant make any sense of the regulations and rules. I walk into one store, no crazy signs on the ground, no masks or gloves, employees act like life is always as it has been, for example the car service center and my chiropractor. Then you walk into another store and every employee is masked, face shields and barriers all around the checkout, they wear gloves and disinfect everything around you, there are signs with arrows which direction to walk and where to stand. How can it be so extreme? It is a gross, anxious, negative, unpleasant feeling when you walk into a store and see all that. It has to do some mental damage I am sure. I hate it! I have not put a mask on to this day. I am not being defiant or some kind of rule breaker, I just don't feel the need or see the point. I still go back to the early days of COVID and have read multiple reports that those masks are pointless and maybe even worse. For starters most people have one mask and wear them over and over. That alone is gross. The masks harbor bacteria and viruses. Very few people have the right kind and I see many handkerchiefs tied around the face. That doesn't do a darn thing people. It is a false sense of security. Some stores even require customers to wear masks. I will not be entering those locations. I have been to town once a week since March and now a couple times a week. I observe people when I am out. Some walk as far away from you as possible with their mask and you can see the fear in them. Others will stand a couple feet from you talking without wearing a mask.
President Trump is trying to get the churches opened up. Unfortunately everything is run state by state by the Governor. So far Governor Reynold's, I feel has done a descent job. We have opened things and our restrictions where much less than many other states. Some Governors have ridiculous restrictions. Abortion clinics and liquor stores are open, yet churches are not allowed. Think about that for a minute. There is certainly evil going on and there is an agenda.
Each week that goes by, there is something new cancelled or shut down. I want to see things open up and start allowing larger crowds. Restaurants have opened, malls, dentists, hair salons just this week. So why are we still cancelling. It's May and the 4th of July town and parade cancelled last week. This week word of the Leon and Bloomfield rodeos cancelled. Dayton Labor Day 4 day rodeo in September, cancelled. This is all so sad and so damaging for all involved. I am anticipating no county fairs or state fair.
I think of the kids, those that were sports fanatics, talented athletes that eat, sleep, and breathe sports. Summer is a time to go to amusement parks, play ball, go to county fairs, go to the swimming pool, have sleepovers, play with the neighborhood kids, go to horse shows and rodeos, races and parks, camp and parades.
The Olympics were cancelled several weeks ago. What a blow that had to be. There are athletes that have been training for 4 years or some a whole lifetime. The time and effort, blood, sweat and tears they put into their dreams. For some they are in their prime and this was their chance. So sad for so many! What do they do from there? I cannot imagine. What are we doing!?
