1/16/19....Prayers for health... I go to bed at night praying and I wake in the morning praying for some very close and dear to my heart. I found a booklet filled with encouraging words of hope, prayers and scripture. I have used it so much lately. I read them, I mail them in cards and I take a photo and text them. Aunt Alice's health is slowly declining. She had some abdominal swelling in December and I started researching it. That is when reality really hit me. It became evident to me that time is precious and we need to hold on to the time we have with her. It breaks my heart and I don't want to think about what is to come. I have decided that is what I am going to do, not think about the future but to make the most of the time we are given with Alice. I want to be here for her and I want to help her in any way that I can. I plan to have another get together with the kids and watch a movie at her house. I also want to plan a little birthday cake and ice cream gathering for Luke's birthday at her house. She just started a treatment where she will go weekly for a chemo type treatment. She went to her first one yesterday and it really was hard on her.
My Dad has a lot on his shoulders too. He is doing all the animals chores, house chores, running errands, getting Alice to appointments, and so much more. It is hard on him in every way.
My Aunt Rose finally met with a heart surgeon on Jan 9 . The surgeon was scared to perform the surgery on her due to her age and past heart history. In fact he denied the surgery until he got to meet Rose. She shared with him he changed his mind. She needs the surgery and cannot do much of anything in her home without pain and exhaustion. On the 17th both Jon and Rose ended up in the hospital. Jon with all the stress, was having chest pain and heart trouble. Rose was transferred to another hospital where she was put through many tests and her blood was abnormal. It was so sad for Rose and Jon to be separated in different hospitals. Her condition is not good and her surgery has been cancelled and blood tests awaiting results.
Right after the new year, my friend Angelia had to have a biopsy after an abnormal mammogram. She is schedule for a double mastectomy in February and has a tumor. She had an interesting story. A few weeks back she became ill, she was terrible sick for a couple weeks. She said she had never been so sick and weak. She had gone to the doctor a couple of times, ran tests, and never had a diagnosis. She eventually got better, but in talking to her doctor, he mentioned to her, she should schedule a routine mammogram now that she is 40. She thought, might as well get one scheduled and did. Had she waited, the cancer would have spread for sure. It was all in God's timing. I was able to share my experiences with her and answer a lot of questions.
So many loved ones in need of prayer. I know that God will surround them with cover them with protection. It is God's will how their stories will end. I will remain in prayer for them and trust in the Lord's plan.
1/28/19 Updating Prayers.... And there were more prayers needed... I planned to go to Alice's a few times to help her go through things. She wanted me to help her sort some things for good will and show me some things she wanted me to have, and go through jewelry with Jayden. Between the weather and Alice not feeling up to it, I never got that chance. I don't know what the future holds, if Alice will get out of the hospital or if she will even go home. So many unknowns, so much to pray for. While Alice is in the hospital battling cancer and its effects, my aunt Rose is about to have open heart surgery in just a few days. With so many complications from her past open heart surgery, this is a serious time for her. I have asked my connection group for prayer of my aunts.
Over the weekend my nephew Rylie was severely injured during a wrestling match. He fell on his opponents knee and lacerated his kidney. We had just gotten home from the hospital seeing Alice when we heard about Rylie. Kicking into family mode, I offered to go with Mark to be with Lori and Troy if needed. Everyone was worried that he may need surgery. They didnt think we needed to come, in fact our family had planned to visit Ry over the next couple days, but he was not up to visitors. Initially he was in excruciating pain, lots of vomiting, and blood in his urine.
Next on the list, our friends and connection group family the Graves' son Aaron, had a blood clot in his arm. That was a scary situation for his family and he spent the night at Blank Children's hospital monitoring the situation. Aaron was in Jacob's school class growing up. He was always exceptionally tall for his age and a super athlete. He is currently a freshmen in HS at 4 foot 6, out sizing his twin brothers who are seniors. Aaron is on the starting line up in football and basketball. This put a quick end to his athletic season and after 2 surgeries to remove the clot, it was determined he had a rare condition common in athletes. He had a vein near his collar bone where blood couldn't flow as easily and a clot formed. He eventually had to have his first rib completely removed.
Psalm 55:22 Cast all your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you: he will never let the righteous be shaken.
