I have never been a fan of little dogs, so it has taken some getting used to with Rosco. They are very different from the big golden retriever dog that always stands by my side begging for attention. Rosco is more distracted and it is hard to get his attention. He has stolen Jake's heart. He is his dog and he is responsible for him in every way.
Tuff is the guard dog. He barks at every car coming down the road and if someone pulls in the driveway he doesnt quit barking until we assure himn it is ok. I am not a big fan of guard dogs and some people are scared to get out of their vehicles. He is a smart dog and Jayden has trained him well. She will snap her finger ans he sits, clap her hand and he lays down. He is very obedient and smart.
Daisy has had a rough summer. She was carrying a thick heavy coat of hair so I took her for a hair cut. They shaved her poor hair so short she had very little left. I was so sad for her. She spent the rest of summer in a t-shirt to keep her from sun burn and all the flies. Daisy has really slowed down this year and sleeps so much. It is hard on her to sit and stand very long. She also started having seizures this summer. Her face will twitch and her body will twitch. It happens quite often and more so when we are giving her attention.
One evening Mark and I went to ride horses. We typically put Daisy in the garage so she doesn't follow. When we left she was nowhere in sight so we thought she wouldn't see us go. 100 yards down the path she started to follow. We trotted along and tried to lose her. She can't go very fast herself. She no longer runs at all. When we hit the end of the hay field half a mile away, we turned back. At that point Daisy darted into the tall corn. I think she was going to take a short cut and follow the corn home. Once back at the house I was worried about her and went to find her. It took an hour and a half with the gator to finally spot her on the road. I put her in the gator and hauled her home. The poor old lady. That was hard on her. The next evening Rosco was barking at her outside. When I got closer, Daisy acted like she was in a coma. She was lethargic, heavily breathing, eyes open, foaming at the mouth, and unresponsive. I thought she was having a seizure and was dying. After a couple minutes, she hopped up, wagged her tail and was ready to play. It was the craziest thing. For a moment Mark and I thought she was gone.
Daisy is such a sweet dog. She is so loyal and will stay by your side. She wants affection so much she will put her head on your hand or her paw on you. She is a good ol girl.
