I found this statistic to be interesting regarding swear words in cinema. I have noticed that people use foul language so much more these days. You hear it on the movies, from adults, and now from the mouth's of babe's. We wonder why, where they pick it up, how they are learning it. Hearing terrible language disgusts me, angers me and hurts my heart. It makes me cringe. I want my reaction to always be that way. I never want to become immune to to hearing it, never want to tolerate it, and never want to speak it. There are some who use swear words in every day life in day to day conversation. I find it so sad. We used to hear bad words in the R rated movies, but it has moved it's way even into kids shows. Netflix has a string of television series and its so hard to find any good shows that aren't flooded with swearing. I have seen so many movies and shows that I think, wow if only they cleaned up the words, it could actually be a great show. It ruins the show. I refuse to watch shows that have lots of foul language. Yellowstone comes to mind. It is all the rave these days. There are millions of viewers and it is full of gruesome violence and heavy in foul language. I won't watch it. Mark is one of those that watches enough shows and hears it so much that he has become immune to it. He doesn't seem to notice anymore and I have to tell him to change it. I don't want the kids watching that or hearing that. I don't care if they are all almost adults, I want them to know it is unacceptable and not ok in our home, or anywhere for that matter. We can thank Hollywood and social media for putting it out there. I have noticed in the last 3 years, it has gotten increasingly worse. Where is the filter? Just look how far we've come.
I did some research on Yellowstone. Each episode is 43 minutes, there are 10 episodes in a season. If each episode averages 40 F bombs, that's 400 episodes per season. Yikes!!
