Busy Before Fair

Our Sunday was just as packed as could be. I am not sure how it happens , but we manage to fill our days to the max. We had church in the morning. Luke’s guitar instructor sent him home with his very own guitar. A full size nice quality guitar. He even put new strings on it for Luke. He is a very kind Godly man and I am so glad he is working with Luke. After having a light lunch at home, we cleaned out and repacked the Bloomer trailer. Jake and I took it up to the fairgrounds and parked it in a camp spot for the week of the fair. We made a quick stop at Dairy Queen too. At 4:00, Jayden had a horse riding lesson with a 7 year old little girl, Skylar. She is the daughter of one of Mark’s good friends and would like to start lessons. Jayden is now up to 6 kids for lessons. She doesn’t like giving riding lessons all that much, but I help her out and she is making some money. I think it is great! I just don’t want her to get overwhelmed. There isn’t much down time around here and it would be nice to have some now and then. At 5:30 she had a lesson with Cash. It was terrible hot out in the arena too, making it less enjoyable. At 6:30 Paige brought a horse she is selling for us to try out for the boys. He is a small black and white paint. He was cute, but he came with too many problems including lameness. The boys rode Eagle a little too. He is so lame and it has been 2 weeks since injections. At this point it isn’t looking too good for Jake to take him to the fair. I feel bad for Jake. He isn’t going to enjoy the fair too much.
Monday Luke had his friend CJ over. We finished fair projects. Vrilin came and did farrier work on 4 horses. Morgan came and tried out Moose. The forecast for the week ahead, heat, heat, and more heat. I don’t enjoy the fair at all when it is so hot. Once again, the timing of Mark’s surgery is getting me down. Doing the country fair with the kids and animals all by myself is not something I am looking forward to!

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
