Another year of school begins. Jacob is a senior attending DMACC for Automotive Technology. He does not have any classes at the highs school, however being dual enrolled in the Ogden school, he is able to take the classes for college credit and we don't have to pay for it. It is a great benefit for us. This year will be a challenge with the time schedule. Jake will have to leave each day at 9AM, drive to Ames, take his class from 9:50 to 11:50. That gives me from 8am to 9am to do homeschool in the mornings with Jake and then try to finish in an hour or two after lunch each day. We are not looking forward to that. Afternoon school is hard. We all want to be done by then.Luke is an 8th grader this year and will be home most of the morning doing his school. He is also playing football for the first time ever. I don't think he has even played catch or kicked a football before this year. He attended a 3 day camp at the Ogden school to get a feel for it before he committed to a season. I have to admit, him playing football makes me nervous for a number of reasons. Luke has always exceled academically, however he lacks motivation and tends to procrastinate and skip over sections of his work. I will have to stay on top of that. This year the boys are doing some government and economics, reading and listening to an audio book of Uncle Tom's Cabin among other things.
Another year of school for these two. Andrew is a 4th grader and Bridget 6th grader.
