Jayden's Birthday

Monday we took Jayden out for her birthday. She had a special day starting with Flowers sent to her from all her favorites, Dad, Mom< Jake, Luke, Tuff, CoCo, Ace, Joker, Astro, Wess. Both sets of Grandparents and Wade and Carina's family joined us for a birthday dinner at Hickory Park. It was a quiet night at the restaurant and we all had a nice meal, visit, and dessert. Jayden opened many gifts from everyone. Afterward, she joined me and went to the mall to get some undergarments, we were both in need. We laugh and have fun like sisters. Jayden told me it makes her sad that she deosnt have any friends from college that would go to the mall with her. Her roommate and her two good friends don't like to leave the dorms. Well, we had fun and I love spending time with Jayden. On Tuesday we met in Boone for a Women's Introduction to Gun safety course. I had been wanting to take a class ever since I got my permit to carry almost a year ago. It was a 3 hours class, a lot of basics, safety, gun handling, then finally shooting in the range. We had a semi automatic 22. WE practiced, handling, loading, and shooting. I was the only one in the class that had never shot a hand gun, Jayden had once in 4H. Jayden and I were the best shots in the class. We both shot our targets in about the exact same area. Jayden went first and she was shooting the bullseye center and super close. She is an excellent shot. She had had a bad day at college and shooting was a great stress reliever. She really enjoyed herself and wants to go again sometime. The instructor was pretty impressed with us. He went on and on about how well and precise we were as beginners. I do think we will be back. Jadyen and I went for a little shopping, we were both in need of new bras. Kind of a funny thing to shop for with your daughter.
Not long after her birthday, Jayden went and got a tattoo. She has talked about getting one over the past few months. I never really thought she would do it. I had hoped she would get something small like a cross somewhere that is hidden. She got an A and a spade on the inside of her forearm. To her it represents her horse Ace and how he has turned her into the horse loving passionate about barrel racing lover. She said he is gritty and she wants to always remember that.  The day she went to get her tattoo, Luke had my phone and texted she was at a tattoo place. By the time she called it was done. She took a girl from her rodeo team to sit with her. My little girl is all grown up and making her own choices. At 19, I can influence her, but I cannot make her choices. I guess this is her step in independence. I have no room to speak because I have one myself. It really is something how much your kids want to follow in your foot steps. I have mixed feelings about tattoo's.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
