Mark woke up Friday with a migraine. He gets so stressed over the markets. Corn was down 15 cents. His headache made him sick to the point of throwing up several times. That plus maybe a bug, he was sick all weekend. He had stomach stuff going on. He wanted all the lights off in the house. I cant stay inside like that very long. By Saturday I had to get out. Luke and I went to the Woodard dairy and then on to Des Moines. He has been saving all his money for roller blades. We looked at a few then decided it would be good to see if he really likes rollerblades enough to buy them. I took him to a skating rink and he rented a pair and rolled around. We ended up back at a store and he bought a pair. He was so excited when we got home he rolled all around the house. The next morning they were back on his feet again.
Sunday Mark was still recovering from the weekend stomach bug. Jayden was travelling home from her Nebraska rodeo. The boys and I went to church then headed on to my parents 50th anniversary party in Williams. They had the party in their church basement. Mom went all out with the photos and decorations. They had a great turn out with lots of friends and family. Carina and I took turns greeting people as they came in. Mom and Dad had the wedding dress and Navy shirt from their wedding. It is amazing how tiny they were. It was a fun day for everyone and a nice party. 50 years is a big deal theses days. So many marriages don't make it anywhere near that. I think it is so awesome to have parents and grandparents that have a love that lasted through the years until death do us part. 50 years really is something special. We recently became aware of cousin Kallie getting a divorce after 16 months of marriage. So sad! Marriage is tough, it takes effort and to put your spouse before yourself and to have God at the center of your marriage. That is what keeps a marriage going.
Luke brought his roller blades and I told him he could put them on at the end of the party. Alivia brought her skates as well and they strapped them on the minute they party ended. They were skating all over the church basement and they had fun. Somehow Luke and Grandma talked me into letting Luke skip Monday and hang out with Alivia who also had a day off school. Turned out they had a fun time and Grandma took them skating in town at Williams. Luke told me he would do double the school the next day.
