Trip to Ok

6/13/18
Jayden had been searching for her next horse for some time. She had been in contact with a lady for a few months just waiting for the opportunity to make a trip to meet up and see her horse. The horse had not been listed for sale yet, she was given the information through Leanna from OK. Mark has been on board for this whole idea, where I have been dragging my feet. I just worry about college and too many horses. Mark and Jayden took off and were gone Wednesday through Friday. Mark got a migraine on the way and felt so poorly that he threw up. Jayden drove the whole trip. When they arrived at Dianna's home, they learned a lot about her. She is married to a pastor of a cowboy church that was putting on a kids rodeo camp all week. This week they hosted 30 little girls and the next week will be the boys. She told Jayden they teach them about Jesus and rodeo. I love that!! They really connected and spent a ton of time in the saddle with Dianna. She had three horses they tried and she coached Jayden on them. Jayden said it was miserable hot and the arena was out in the hot sun where they spent hours. Mark made a few tea runs to bring them back drinks. They called and gave me lots of updates and showed me videos. The thing that I noticed while watching the videos, was how fast these horses are! They have big motors and run so fast it makes Ace look slow. Then the worrying mom comes along and I fear safety. Mark has the mindset, if she wants to compete, do well, and win, she needs a step it up and you gotta have a high caliber horse. And so with that, I got the phone call that said they would be bringing home, not one horse, but two! I was shocked. Back home we have too many horses and the goal has been to decrease the herd. Mark found a horse named Wes that is a well broke rope horse and says it is for him and the boys. Jayden found a 6 year old grey named Astro.  She was very excited about him and couldn't wait to get started with him. The goal- college rodeo. Diana offered to bring the horses to our home herself. She was actually looking forward to getting away and planning a trip out of it.

Wednesday morning after Jayden and Mark left, rain clouds came in and dumped over 3 inches on us!! It has been wet and now again more rain.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
