Anderlik Payne Wedding

Niece Abby Anderlik had her wedding over the weekend to Kyle Payne. Jayden and the Ferrari girls were asked to be candle lighters. Abby had them all buy matching dresses that she picked out. The girls all had to do major alerting to make their dresses fit right. The alterations alone are more than I would ever pay for a dress.  Abby also requested a certain style of shoes and that they all wear their hair up. On Friday morning the girls all met to have a tea room lunch with Abby and to pay to have their nails done. That evening they had the dress rehearsal for the families. The grooms mother made all the sides, corn, beans, and mashed potatoes with all the vegetables from her garden! The meat was brought in and delicious, a smoked pork loin. We ended up being one of the last to sit down and were at a table of our own. We were kind of out of the loop the whole night.  Jayden spent the night with the Ferrari's and Saturday they helped each other with hair and make-up. Our families were to be at the church by 2:45 for photos and the wedding started at 5. Suzy Burns re-seated Mark and I in the second row, so we were up close and personal. IT was a nice ceremony, Grandpa Bob Anderlik did a reading and Tim sang a couple songs. Kyle and Abby used a branding iron to brand a wooden photo of the two of them with a cow. It was unique and neat. The decorations were lovely with a giant barn door at the front of the church. Kyle is a very polite gentlemen, kind and takes the time to visit with everyone. He is very personable and nice to be around. He is a cattlmen from down in Davis county near Mark's relatives. The word is, they are a super hard working family and raise a ton of cattle.

The wedding reception was held at the Fort Dodge Opera house. The decorations were gorgeous with another giant set of barn doors and tons of lights. The food was great and the music was fun. There was an ice cream bar, unlimited soft serve ice cream with all the toppings.  Shortly after the meal, over half the guests left for the evening. They really cleared out in a hurry. There was still enough of a crowd and fun to keep going. Luke hit the dance floor with his moves and never quit until the DJ shut down for the night. Many times he was the center of attention. Literally a circle would be formed around him as he busted out the moves. He really gets his feet going and gets into a song. He's got good rhythm. He requested quite a few songs too. He had a good variety, AC/DC, Def Leopard, Fireball, Country, and more. Often he was playing his air guitar. He had fun and we all enjoyed watching him. At the end of the night even the DJ complimented his song requests.  Ali, Blake, and the kids were there all night too. The kids like to be around our kids and they danced a lot too. We were taking notes for their wedding next year. There will be a lot of wedding in the next few years with all these cousins!

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
