Sunday

4/17/16 Sunday morning alarm clock went off way too early. Mark had morning cattle chores and I did horse and pet chores. I told Jayden to just stay in bed. We had early hospitality setup at church. It seems we always end up signed up on a busy weekend. It really takes the joy out of serving and it starts to feel a little like a burden. It is important and we make it a priority. However, this morning we were really dragging. Without kids we got out the door much easier, the sun was shinning and it was beautiful and warm out. We set up the snack and coffee table along with the computers. Mark greeted and I took Jayden’s spot filling in for the 3, to 5 year old class. Those kids are adorable and funny. After church we just wanted to grab lunch quickly at KFC and eat it at home outside. We waited to order and waited. Once we finally got to order we waited some more. They had completely forgot our order and had to ask for it again. That was upsetting, so we just left. This KFC has upset me more than once and I have decided to never stop again. The customer service is the worst. We ate at Burger King and that is my least favorite place to eat. Back at the house, my parents came down with the kids and stayed for awhile. I had to start on preparing food for the evening. I was signed up to make the meal for our connection group. That is hard for me as I am not used to making large meals. I had to have enough for 25 people with kids and all. I made a big pasta dish with french bread, salad, and dessert. I asked my parents if they would like to join us, so they did. We had connection group at the Lodge at Hidden Acres. The Lodge is so nice. There is a big deck to sit outside over a small lake/swamp. The boys had so much fun running around with the kids and catching frogs. They started out taking their boots off and some of the kids ended up waist deep in the water. The boys all loved it. Jayden went to her friend Hannah's 16th birthday party in town. That was a hard thing for her and I was proud of her for going. She really needed her friend Makeena to go too, but her mom didn't like the idea.  Jayden had to go alone to a party filled with school friends she had not seen in a few years. She only sees Hannah a couple times a year. She said it was very awkward. She arrived a little late, so all eyes on her. She had to sit at the only available spot next to a former classmate that had never been nice to her, that completely ignored her. Also girls from the Gowrie school, and two boyfriend/girlfriend couples. She hung out awhile and talked to some classmates, but did not stay long. That took some courage to even go.
It was a  busy weekend, now I have a messy house, and I am feeling tired and exhausted.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
