9/24/15 Tuesday I called in a substitute
teacher, also known as Grandma Mawgee. I needed a day. A day to run errands and
a day to get out without my kiddos. Not that I don’t love every minute with my
kids, but it is refreshing to have some time alone. I had lunch with Angelia
and took some maternity photos of her. She is getting so close to having her baby.
She is at 36 weeks, but has had several instances in the hospital thinking the
baby was coming. I did some shopping and loaded up on field food at Sam’s. The
day ended in rain.
Wednesday was the usual taekwondo and youth group night.
CHURCH NIGHT-Jadyen’s small group is
kind of struggling to keep together. Donna, Jayden’s leader is trying to figure
out what to do next. Jayden is feeling sad. It took her a long time to get
comfortable with the group of girls in her small group. Since high school, they
are so hit and miss and their priorities are everywhere else. Jayden told me
she feels like she just doesn’t fit in anywhere in the church. It is heart breaking because she truly wants to be there and wants to make friends. Jake is
in the same situation. He likes youth group, he enjoys the
lesson and talks to me about it each week. But, his small group is full of kids that
he doesn’t know at all. Kids just don’t go out of their circle to meet new kids
anymore. Its like they have their own friends so why would they want to meet
somebody new. If you are the new kid, you are just kind of there. It is so
hard.
Thursday afternoon our whole family went
to the Dayton arena to ride. We had the place to ourselves. Other than the tiny "no see’em" bugs biting, it was about perfect. We took three horses and all took
turns riding. We took our poles and Jayden got in some practice runs. The boys
took their bicycles and we even took the dog Tuff. Luke was confident riding Ace and got along great. After some riding, we went up
town to the Dayton bar to eat some burgers. It was a nice family outing.
