Another
early morning feeding horses and getting ready for show day. Sunday horse show
is so much more fun, it is all game day. The Burr’s came to see the kids and
stayed for the entire show. We had a big fan club today with both Grandparents,
Alice, Wade, Carina, and Alivia. The morning started with Jayden’s classes, egg
and spoon first, which she dropped her egg splat on her saddle and down her
leg. Next break the gait, and Jayden won the class. Wahoo, she got herself a
trophy! I was so happy and so was she. I felt like I could enjoy the rest of
the day without the pressure of hoping she would win something.
It was the
sweetest thing ever, earlier in the morning, I took Jake aside and we prayed
together. I wanted him to relax, enjoy
the day and pray for safety. He also said, and pray that Jadyen wins a trophy
today. Proud of my boy for thinking of his sis! It was a good day. There always
has to be someone to spoil the fun for others. A certain 4H member that always
brings drama to the fair, really made a scene this year. Fortunately most did not
have to see the commotion. The family got into a yelling
screaming match in the arena over some silly issue. The same member has three
finished barrel horses that she enters in all the race events so that she can get
first, second, and third place. The family is do or die win. It is
just so sad for them. 4-H is all about kids learning, not about showing off and
acting like fools to win. The sun wasn’t scorching hot like every other year.
The kids both did barrels, poles, and mystery event. Jacob finished with flags
and jumping figure eight. Jake did so good loping his horse and had a good day.
Jayden ran a great pattern for barrels and poles. Her horse Ace has really proven to be great for her.
The horse show ended around 2:00 and was pretty hot. We cooled off in the camper, while Jayden got cleaned up and dressed for the evening "Parade of Champions" dinner. Any 4Her that got a State Fair award or Grand Champion in livestock class get to attend. While she was away having dinner, Dad and I were cleaning out horse stalls. The last day at the fair in the heat cleaning out horse manure, makes getting to go home at the end of the day motivating. Horse trailer loaded and Mark too the horses home with the boys. I crammed everything from the camper and all the 4H projects into the Tahoe without an inch to spare. Another year of fair came and went. Many fun times and good memories for the kids. This was probably one of the best fairs and of course, we do it all for the kids.
