THe prurple Dodge Dually has been a specail truck that we have held on to. WHen Mark and I wre first dating, that was his big awesome truck and I loved it. After we were married, I got to hook up my blue stock trailer and haul it to rodeos. He had gotten "Muench" personalized licesne plates on it too. I wasnt great with a manul shift, griding or popping the clutch now and then, but I was actually better with a trailer behind it. I was never comfortable backing, and tried to avaid tight spaces or having to back in and out if at all possible. I was very good at making big U turns and often would do so at intersections. Over the years, the truck got passed down from being our main truck to the farm truck. Eventually we bolted in an air compressor, tool box, and other equipment and it was used on the farm. Many different people used it and drove it pullling trailers and fuel tanks. For the past few years, Luke has been eyeing it and wanting to claim it for hismself. He has it in his mind that he has to work and earn enough money to pay for it so that it can be 100% his own. He wants to take claim of it so that he can add any features and make any changes on it he wants. That is a little scary as these boys like to make changes andsometimes, they dont always work out. With all three kids, we supply them with a vehicle while they are in high school. It is their wheels to drive and use and call their own. Once they are done with college or have a job and want to start paying for their own, they can either buy the vehicle or buy something else with their own money. Jayden had the grey dodge and eventaully bought it, then traded it for the white (I will call it drag racing truck) that she eventually sold back to Mark to which Jake drove until it was sold. Jake ended up finding his own truck to take out a loan and make payments on. Luke didnt think he would ever be allowed to drive the dually. He talkked with Amrk and our mechanic and his goal was to be abel to drive it for his last week of school. The cltuh needed replaced and the mechanic, Justin had been to bsuy to get to it. Just in time for his last week of school,. the truck was ready. Luke had it all celaned up inside and out. He was so excited and do proud of his wheels. Since then I have ridden along with him to a few 4H meetings and he deosnt stop talking about the truck. He is in love. These boys love their vehicles like they are human. He told me how in 98 these were the first DOdge truck to have this style of door. The fronts open and the backs open in the opposite direction, a half size door. He also told me about the engine size and how these trucks are rare and a wantedd version. I pulled down my visor to see this button. I love it! THis has been there for a few years, like 24. I think this photo may have been taken just after we got married. It sure made me smile!! Luke has been excited to add a few of his own touches, the steering wheel cover and the shifter. He bought rims a couple months ago that have been sitting in the garage. They are chrome shiny and fancy. Boy that truck will stand out once those are on!!
