In December I was with the grandkid's at Ali's home. There was a Netflix movie my 12 year old step-granddaughter previously watched with her 10- and 11-year-old siblings and wanted to watch it with me. All I knew was it had the word babysitter in it and I thought it sounded safe. About 20 minutes in I was shocked and quite horrified and had so many questions! I stopped it, I could not watch it and asked why would you watch this,? I was horrified to say the least. She had already watched it and told me "everyone is watching it" and "it is the top rated show" that everyone is watching. I dislike Netflix and the shows that are out there for all ages to access. There is no restrictions for kids. They de-value purity, de-value human life, de-value morals and values . UGH! There is no filter anymore, anything and everything goes and kids have it right at their fingertips. It was a very shocking and eye opening moment for me! Ali had no concerns and lets the kids have free access to anything all day while at work. They have been watching age restricted shows since they were very little. Here is the movie review taken from the movie....Parents need to know that The Babysitter is a violent, gory, and sometimes even funny movie with a lot of appeal for teen horror fans. A cult ritual requires human sacrifice and the blood of an innocent, so there's lots of blood dripping, spewing (mostly played for comedy), and spattering everywhere and on almost everyone. Many violent deaths by stabbing, shooting, hanging, and falling, and even by a fireplace poker run all the way through someone's head. Main character Cole, 12, is bullied verbally and physically. The eerie, dark atmosphere is enhanced by tense music and several jump scares. Teens kiss as part of a Truth or Dare game, both same-sex and opposite-sex, and one prolonged scene shows lots of tongue and lip biting between same sex. Tweens kiss once and suggest making out next time ." Lots of strong language including f.
