Dallas Market Wesa

Jayden asked me to attend another Dallas Market, I just couldnt say no!. I arrived on Wednesday August 24th as I flew into Dallas through some giant fluffy clouds. Upon arrival, I have to laugh as all the quiet electric cars gracefully floated in and out picking up passengers who were waiting like myself.  All the cars were small economy, maybe a small truck here and there and then in rolls Jayden in her big, tall megacab Dodge Ram with extra loud turbo. Out hops this little, beautiful, tall blonde. I am sure we turned some heads. We found an Outback steakhouse as we drove towards the hotel for supper. We talked, planned out the next day including our outfits, and read our books before calling it a night. In the morning we waited a bit for the shuttle and decided we would just take the truck, the truck that barely fits into a parking spot at the hotel.

This experience was different from our last Market in that it was the 100 year anniversary of WESA event. This meant more on site stores/vendors, many western vendors, and shoppers. They had live music, a runway show, (that we did not get to see), snacks, and drinks. In one store a gal came up to me with a glass of Moscotto and said," I happened to pour an extra, would you like one?"Jayden made her way through the market stores eyeing merchandise that her customers like and made many purchases. Her orders can take weeks to months to arrive on her doorstep. The tourquise jewelry she  can always purchase and take. She has a favorite place to shop and the store owner talks to her the whole time., He remembered me from the last time and details as if it was yesterday. He knows Jayden well and knows what things she likes to buy and shares all that new in her style. He even gives her pointers and tips on how to run her business and how to give future employees incentives. One of my intersts was getting to watch the artist behind one of the companies who designs the artwork for their shirts. He was drawing and painitiung a picture right there in the store. I found that very fascinating. I love watching Jayden handle herself so professionally and very sophisticated. She is confident and knows exactly what she is doing and talks to Reps and vendors, and you cen see they have great respect for her and are impressed. She is good at what she does and everyone she works with is helpful and want to help her be successful. In most of the clothing stores the girls that are her age are modeling the clothing she is buying. I find it interesting that they are all working for the companies that are selling to the businesses that Jayden owns. She is on a whole other level. I bet their mind would be blown if they knew this beautful blonde who easily could be a model has created this successful business and at her young age. The models carry themselves so flaunty and yet Jayden is so humble. Throughout the day we went through and around the floors searching for clothing, shoes, purses, and jewelry to add to her store. I talked Jayden into a few things that she was'nt sure would sell. I bought a bundle of dresses for Jayden to sell.  She really didnt think she would sell dresses very well. She had no problems and sold them right away. Also there was a western aztec top they call a shacket, a combination between a shirt and jacket. Those ended up being a big hit in her store. Between the two of us, we make a good team with different taste in cloting. I so enjoyed being part of the selection process and will get to see how her products sell.  At the end of our day, we found that someone had parked so tight we were going to have to back awkwardly out, jump a curb, and get on the main road. It could only be done with the monseter truck she had. It was not ideal, but we could have easily been stuck in the parking lot like many others. People just parked in random spots blocking each other in. We went to have our famous pzza night. This time we decided to try an Uber. That went pretty well. The ride back to our hotel was a lady with a car full of bling. She had sparly rhinestones on her mirror, steering wheel, door handles, head rests, and control dials. I thought that was pretty cool. We ordered the big pizza and had no problem eating all but a couple slices. Grimaldi's pizza is the best!! Somehow after that big pizza, Jayden still found room for the homemade popsicles across the street.

Friday we didnt want to deal with parking the giant truck, so we took the shuttle. One of the gals at our hotel told us a man had his truck stolen right from the parking lot the night before! We arent in a real nice area and the hotel is a bit rough. The fence around the hotel made us feel a little safer, guess not.  We were dropped off by the front doors for a second day of shopping. We ran out of steam on our second day and headed out early afternoon. It was crazy hot, in the 100's. OUr shuttle was going to be a long wait, so once again we walked back to the hotel. This is always a bad idea, the traffic is only a couple feet from you on the sidewalk blasting by, it's not a great area, and we have to cross a massive 4 way intersection to get to the hotel that desont have pedestrian crosssing. It's a bit nerve racking. In the future we will need a better game pan. After some rest, we went to a business district to watch a movie. I heard "where the Crawdads Sing" was showing and just finished reading the book. We both really liked the movie even if we missed the fist 10 minutes of it. When the movie was over, we walked out to red carpet and celebrities and actors of the movie Uncle Tom's Part 2. The actual staff were there being photographed as we walked by. That was a pretty neat expereince.  From the interent, "Uncle Tom II is an odyssey depicting the gradual demoralization of America through Marxist infiltration of its institutions. The film explores how this deceptive ideology has torn apart the fabric of society while using black America as its number one tool for its destruction.  From Executive Producer Larry Elder and Director Justin Malone, comes the continuation of their highly acclaimed film, Uncle Tom (2020). Uncle Tom II will take the audience deeper into black America’s often eradicated history of honorable men, entrepreneurship, prosperity, faith, and patriotism, to its current perceived state of anger, discontent and victimhood.  Uncle Tom II unveils the Marxist strategy of creating false racial tension between Americans, with its ultimate goal of obtaining power, destroying capitalism and replacing God with government." This flim is one I look forward to watching based on the description and the conservative groups standing up for what is false and wrong. We decided to eat at the nearby Sushi restauarant and people watch as the fancy cars, and limos pulled up with guests in all kinds of formal attire.  There were a lot of very classy black couples and high class business and formal dressed groups walking in. I enjoyed my sushi, something I never dreamed possible. Jayden has me trying all kinds of new things.

After check out, we walked across the strret of our hotel to a little cafe called, "Original Market Diner" that serves the best breakfast. Originally built in 1954, and renamed in 1989. It is always busy, small and crowded with lots of waiters and waitresses bustling about. After we said our goodbyes, I watied for my flight while Jayden stayed near Dallas to make sure there were no cancellations this time. It was a good trip and as always we enjoy our mother/daughter together time.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
