Visit For Easter

Jayden flew home to Iowa for 5 nights over Easter. She left Texas at temperatures in the upper 80's to come home to Iowa temperatures fluctuating around 40. On the way to the airport, we went to the Jeep dealer in Ankeny to talk about a Wagoneer.  Mark, Luke, and I picked Jayden up from the airport around 4, it was hugs and hugs. We then took her to eat at the Jordan Creek Chinese restaurant. We also briefly went through the mall. Mark told me to show Jayden the rings I have been looking at for my birthday. I had my eye on two. I chose the band with diamonds called chocolate and nude. There is a row of tiny diamonds set in a dark chocolate color and the other row is a nude color. The two rows intertwine. I was a little reluctant because of the cost. I am not used to ring prices, I thought it seemed a lot, and Mark was surprised at how little the price. I guess it is all in perspective and what you anticipated the cost. Honestly the price probably wasn't even considered high. In my mind I was looking for a ring under $500, so anything over that seemed high. Mark on the other hand thought a nice ring would cost thousands of dollars. I am sure that rings can vary a lot. Jayden gave me the extra push to pick out the ring and I truly love it. This is the first ring from Mark since we were married.

I feel like a happy mama bear with all bear cubs home together. I love having everyone here under one roof. On Thursday Jayden spent time baking pie with Karen. She enjoys being in the kitchen cooking and baking with Grandma and learning all her techniques. Baby Lace was there for Jayden to meet. She is such a cutie and her mama Jossie loves to dress her for every occasion and an everyday photo. Luke and Jayden also sat and played and sang together for us and for Grammer and Po. It was sweetness to my ears. Oh how I love to hear Luke play and Jayden to sing, put the two together and it is quite a treat!! They sound so good together. They played, " All is I see is you" by Shane Smith and the Saints, through twice without any practice and it was so great! How I wish these two could have taken their God given talents further. I will just be happy when they do play together.

On Friday we went to my parents for supper. Wade and his family joined us and we had some good family time. Jayden and Alivia are such pretty girls with their long hair and beautiful smiles. Levi gets so excited to see Jayden and is a ball of energy. Saturday we rode rode horses and roped the hot heels. The kids also did a little egg decorating. You're never too old for traditions which bring back childhood memories and let the kids be kids. That evening was a big night, Jayden was baptized! ( More in another post)

Easter Sunday morning, we invited Jaynie for breakfast. We also had an egg gather in our living room and church at Stratford. It was sweet with all the babies at church and their little sounds. Everly, Lace, and Titus. Titus had a bad cough and seemed sick. I thought he seemed very sickly later that day. His little eyes were red and he was coughing and fussy. Ali just told me he was fine. Later she did find out he had double ear infection. Easter was very unique, it SNOWED!! We got some nice white sticky snow just right for building a snowman and having snowball fights. Andrew started things off by going outside on his own and rolling a ball that grew and grew so big he couldnt move it. Andrew has been extremely quiet thee last couple years and likes to be alone. He was happily rolling his gigantic snowball as we all watched from inside. Soon, the others couldn't resist. First it was Matt to join in the fun, a kid at heart. Then my boys and Troy. Before long they had a giant snowman built and a snowball fight. What a memorable Easter. First and only Easter we have built a snowman!  Monday the time always goes fast and it is hard to say goodbye. Jay boarded her flight late and flew back.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
