In The News/ Sermon

I have chosen to watch very little news. We can't hide from it and don't want to be uninformed or ignorant, however the news has gotten so left biased, negative, and depressing. There is so much propaganda trying to sway our thoughts and it is all so upsetting. I will catch bits and pieces when I hear a big story or hear about some top news, otherwise I keep the news off. Social media is just as bad if not worse. I have so many things I would like to reply, post, and say, but I just hold my tongue and let it go. I have a Christian News app that I will check on occasion. It just make me so sad and upset to see the things going on in this nation. We have strayed so very far in such a short time.

We had a fabulous sermon given by our pastor on Sunday that really summed things up. We live under the sin curse because of the fall of man. In the Garden of Eden when Eve ate the fruit and Adam followed. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. These are foundational scripture verses. Our pastor talked about the sin curse we all live with and can never beat here on earth. We can never solve all the problems, fix all our troubles because, "We are not in Heaven yet." We look to things to "fix" the sin curse. Here are 3 examples Pastor Mark gave. 1. Government- we think that if we just have the right system, the right officials, then we will fix all our problems. We have seen time and time again there is no way our government is going to fix things or better everything. 2. Education- If we knew better we would live better. We will just educate, teach finances and teach how to manage money better, however smart people do dumb things. 3. Technology- all the medical advances and technology in the medical field is never going to cure us completely and in the end we are all going to die in one way or another. 4. Social Media- this is supposed to bring us all together and yet all the like clicks have created depression and  have caused such great division more so than ever. Our time here on earth is going to be filled with the curse of sin, it is inevitable. Our father has a kingdom waiting for us in heaven. Until then we have to stop looking for the fix and know that our creator is in control.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
