One evening last fall, Jayden was with Noah and his buddy. While near Jayden's house, Noah's freind's truck started smoking out of the hood. They jumped out of the truck just as flames were starting under the hood. The guys started hitting the truck with their coats to try and put the fire out. Jayden jumped into action and ran to her house where her Ram truck was parked. She grabbed the fire extinguisher out from under her back seat and ran it back to the guys. They were able to put out the fire thanks to Jayden. The fire extinguisher was put in the truck by mom.
One fall in 2015, we saw the remains of a truck and trailer that caught on fire. Johnny H was bringing his mini bulls home from a rodeo when his truck started on fire. Flames were coming from the hood and he had no fire extinguisher, most people do not. He had to take quick action, unhooking the trailer would take too long and was nearly impossible as the fire quickly spread. He ran to the back and opened the trailer doors and chased his livestock out. His truck and trailer were completely destroyed. On another occasion, Jayden saw video and heard about a group of her college friends' truck went up in flames. They were able to narrowly escape with the horses. The truck, trailer, and tack were gone.
When Johnny's truck was taken by fire in, I bought a fire extinguisher for the truck that we pull the trailer with. Then I decided I better get one for every truck. Jake drives older trucks and any truck can catch fire. Having an extinguisher is the difference between a few flames and a total loss or worse. I also insisted Jayden get one for Noah's truck and one to keep in his CanAm. He already had a seat almost burned through on his CanAm from a fire. You can't be too safe. It's a full time mom job trying to keep my kids safe.
