Christmas looked very different this year due to covid. I know many people have chosen not to get together with family due to the risk of getting sick. We had to postpone our plans just a few days because we were the ones with the covid. We did not want to share the virus with family. Traditionally we go to Williams for Christmas Eve and to Mark's parents Christmas day. On Christmas Eve Jayden and I spent most of the day cooking and baking. We made a variety of goodies. She found a sugar cookie recipe for green cookies and called them "Grinchmas cookies". The batch made so many, she baked 8 dozen cookies. We watched our church service online, followed by a soup supper.
Jayden gave her Christmas presents out for us to open early. She put so much time, thought, and money into each personal gift. She really went all out and gave the perfect gifts. She had them ordered back in August. She worked with a jewelry guy and and had custom cross necklaces made with the boys initials. They were very nice! She had a custom made pocket knife for Mark with his name and team ropers on it. Mark was very excited and said that was probably the nicest gift he has ever gotten. For me, Jayden had a custom tooled leather bible case complete with my favorite bible verse on the back. Purple cross and and words in my favorite color. It is gorgeous and I will treasure it! She went over the top on nice gifts. We decided on a Christmas story that was so hard to get through. It was Christmas Chronicles 2 a Santa story that seemed it would never end. It was dreadful and I had to get up several times to try to pass the time. I did dishes and cleaned up, I checked FB and Instagram. It was one of the worst Christmas movies I have wasted my time watching. We ended the night with a game of UNO.
On Christmas morning, we all slept in and didn't start gifts until after 9. Jayden and I got matching shirts. She did the shopping for Mark this year. Most of the kids's big gifts were not a big surprise. They either knew about it or helped pick it out. Luke got his shotgun, Jayden a T-shirt quilt, and Jake new boots. The T-shirt quilt I had sent in and made. It had all her special significant T-shirts from over the years. I though it turned out great. Jake spent the rest of the morning sleeping on the floor. He stays up pretty late at night and today was our sleeping beauty.
