End Of Winter Break

It was so nice having Jayden home for a month. She told me herself, it is bitter sweet leaving. She loves home, being here, yet she also loves being in Alva. I am glad she likes her college and the little town, but I am so glad she still misses home and us. She plans to go on a family vacation with us. She doesn't think missing class and having people cover chores will be a problem. She wants to go to Florida and would even pay her own way if she had to.
Jayden had to go back a day earlier than expected to avoid the snow coming in. Fortunately she timed her trip back with Alex so they could follow one another. I still think 10 hours in a truck with 3 horses in a big trailer alone is too much. We did convince her not to take her dog Tuff.
During her time at home, Jayden was a whirlwind when she got back trying to keep up with Rocking J orders and Christmas. The more items she listed, the more she sold. She had back orders to fill, she had to make a trip one day to Prairie Iowa with me to get her leather work done on a dozen bags with her leather guy. She's had numerous packages stacked in the garage for the poor mail carrier to stuff in his trunk each day. She kept the post office busy. Jayden hit her one year mark before Christmas with her Rocking J Co. She had an amazing year in sales and made some great profit! The sales continued into the weeks following Christmas. It seemed the sales were actually picking up into the New year. Jayden posts something on social media and it goes wild. It has been great to see how well it has gone and how Jayden's ideas for new future merchandise and products. While she was home, we ate out a lot, did Krav classes, worked a couple times at Overflow, rode horse a lot, went to a barrel race, had live cattle ropings in our arena, went shopping, binge watched shows, had late night talks, celebrated Christmas and New Years. and packaged and shipped a ton of Rocking J orders. It went really fast. I love having Jayden home, she is the calm in the crazy here in this house with all the males. She is so helpful with cleaning up the house and dishes. She makes me laugh and smile.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
