JMO-Worldly

Just My Opinion-Conforming to the world.
I don't watch television local shows anymore. I stopped about 3 years ago when we started watching more Netflix. I watch older tv series or movies.. Every show seems to have an agenda to promote the homosexual lifestyle. It has become the norm on television and in movies, so much so that they all show it anymore. Netflix has started coming up with it's own television series as well with frequent  shows. What I have observed is a rise in profanity and violence. I can't even stand to watch it. It makes me cringe with each swear word and literally makes me feel sick. It is so frequent and vulgar, violent and inappropriate.  How did it ever get so bad, how did we let this be accepted? I think the fact that it makes me sick is an example of how others should feel that are'nt used to seeing or hearing it. On the other hand if you get exposed to something over and over, you become numb to it with little shock and awe. That is just like conformity. Society continues to be driven farther and farther away from what is right and  true. There was a line that has been crossed so many times and society just keeps pushing the line a little farther. I hate to see it happen and it is happening so rapidly if one just compared a look back at television shows from the 60's, then 80's, and 2000, and now. With the new age of social media and sites like you-tube, there are endless video clips, short videos, memes, etc. at the palm of your hand that a person can fill there mind with. I try so hard to limit the boys from all the content out there. I know they are so much better off without all the garbage, but they like any other kid want to see it. I once heard a pastor use the analogy of a miner going deep into the mine. He usually comes up covered in black soot and filth and time was wasted. Very seldom does he come up with a nugget of gold. There is way more trash than any good that comes from online videos. I fear for where the next generations and what kinds of things they will be exposed to. We have such a problem with mental illness, crime, violence, mass shootings, rape, and sexual abuse, in this country. I really think television and movies have a big impact on it. I refuse to watch movies or shows that have the f bomb in it. I refuse to watch shows that are vulgar and violent or crude and inappropriate. I don't understand why anyone would and why and how these things got to be so available.Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
