Over The Weekend

Friday-Jake had spent the day and night at Grandma and Grandpa's to pick out and buy tractor rims for Jake's Farmall M. Today they brought him back, waited until Spanish was over, and then took Luke home to spend the weekend.. In the evening I took Jake to his youth group 180 retreat out at Hidden Acres. He was super excited to go and insisted we drive his truck out. He was feeling pretty good and wanted to be seen in his truck. There was so much going on, kids were too busy to take notice.

Celebrating... Saturday we celebrated. It was my moms birthday and Allie passed her pharmacy tech boards and quit smoking. We all went out to Texas Roadhouse including Wade's family and Aunt Alice. After dinner Jayden, Mark, and I and Allie and Blake went to the movie,"I Can Only Imagine" It was a great movie and I am so glad we went. Now I know the story behind the song. That song has been out for over 20 years and still popular and impactful.

RETREAT... Sunday after church I picked Jake up from his youth group retreat out at Hidden Acres. He was so bummed that I didnt drive his truck. He had been telling his small group all about his truck and couldn't wait to show it off. He was just sure I would bring it. I think I broke his heart. He told me all about how great a time he had. He has such a great group of guys and his leaders are awesome. To be surrounded by brothers in Christ as a middle schooler is so great.  They planned to have their group stick around after the retreat an extra couple hours to have pizza and go swimming/hot tubing. IT was their last 180 retreat together before high school. I am so thankful for his youth group and Jake says it all the time. It has been a huge answer to prayer and I pray it will continue for him into high school. After getting Jake I drove into Webster City to get Luke. He had been at Grandmas and with Alivia. Back at home I quick threw together some dinner and took it to connection group. It was a beautiful day warm and sunny.  Although I didnt really get to enjoy it or be outside, but I was just glad to see the sun. 1 week ago it was snowing. Iowa, why do you have to be so extreme!

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
