Jayden's 80's Retreat

We did school in the morning and the boys had their freind Tyson come over and spend the night. He is in between the boys ages at 11 years old. He is fun, high energy, and a little trouble maker. The boys spent the majority of their time playing video games, the only thing Tyson really liked to do. I got pizza from Casey's and fed everyone in the field too. Jayden had her Escape youth group church retreat at Hidden Acres. She got all dressed up at home to see what her costume for Saturday night would look like. The theme was 80's and Jayden was dressed perfect for it. She had the outfit, the hair, and even the bright pink lipstick. She was rockin it!  She had so much fun at her retreat. She said the dance had three groups of people. The ones that would dance a little  awkwardly, the ones that wouldn't dance and just watched, and the group that had a blast and danced to all the songs wild and crazy, that was Jayden's group. The rest of her small group was all in the corner watching, they are very shy and Jayden has never really felt like she fit in the group, but tonight she just jumped in with the fun kids and had a blast. She told me she stayed up talking late with a bunch of people, some she just met.The message was good and she was glad to have gone. The weather was chilly and windy so they didn't go outside unless they were walking to and from buildings.
br /> On Saturday the boys and I helped with Trunk Or Treat that was hosted by our church. The new associate pastor Joey and his wife Andrea have been putting on the Trunk or treat for the past 3 years. This year our churches joined. It was a cold day to be outside, but people came out with their kids in costume. I had a warm coat, gloves, and stocking cap on. I was asked to help with pedal cart races. The kids would pedal down and back. I had to try to keep the kids from colliding, wrecking, running others over, and getting tangled in their costumes. They had all kinds of fun things for the kids other than the obvious candy. There were inflatables, jousting, and characters in costume. They had a fire truck and ambulance to look into. The boys ran around and had fun.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
