Our neighbors strange behaviors always keep us guessing.
He has at least a dozen cars that he drives. Each has its own licence plate
and each he will take a different vehicle to town each day. Some he will just drive around his driveway in laps., He is a frequent to Ogden where he works at the
pharmacy occasionally and he tells me he frequents coffee and cards in Boxholm. He tells me
and the dog of his activities. I have never asked about all the vehicles, but
it is really something. He has a red truck, a teal truck, a black van, a white
van, a red van, a gray large passenger van, a old yellow car, a volkswagon bug
car, a black sporty car, a black buick, an old green car, and there are some I
am probably not remembering. There are a lot! One day I looked down the
road just a ways past our mailbox and I noticed Julian had the old yellow car
off on the side of the road and was placing all kinds of cones, hazard signs,
and lights around it. The car was surrounded. I was curious and thought maybe
he ran out of gas or had a flat. It was obvious he was worried about it being
on the road. It was off to the side, not in the middle. Considering we live on a
gravel road with an occasional car that drives by, there is really very little
traffic. In a day, maybe 3 cars? Turns out he parked the car on the road so that the mechanic that
was coming with a flat bed could load it. He did not want the truck to drive in
his driveway. He is really particular about his rocks and his driveway and doesn’t
want anyone driving in his driveway. So much so that he had his propane tank
relocated so that the propane truck could pump propane from the road. That was
no simple task moving a propane tank. He also puts his trash cans out on the
edge of the road so the trash man doesn’t pull into his driveway. Back to the
car with all the bright orange triangles, cones, and flashing lights. Julian
used his truck to pull his car out of his driveway with a log chain by himself
to get it on the road. As you can imagine pulling a car and turning without
someone behind the wheel was a disaster waiting to happen. Sure enough he put
it in the ditch. Somehow he managed to drag it up and back onto the road. He ut all his signs, flashers, and cones around it,. you couldn't miss it from an airplane. Within and hour the flat bed truck came and hauled it away. He keeps us both guessing and entertained.
