10/9/16 Watching the presidential debates on television is kind of a
historical moment. I am not proud of the candidates representing our country,
in fact I am embarrassed of them. They are a poor example of what we are going
to have represent and lead our country. Mark , Jayden, Jake and I watched one of the candidate debates for an hour. Both Hillary and Trump
are rude and interrupt one another, bully and criticize. It is ugly to say the
least. We are pretty much doomed. Mark likes Trump and has been a fan all along, I am not impressed, however he is the only option at this point,.
10/8/16 Morgan called Jayden and asked if she wanted to have a outing with their dogs. Morgan showed up with her dog, Hank. Instantly the dogs did not hit it off. The both seemed aggressive toward each other. Jayden had a plan and kept the dogs separated in the tahoe. The girls had a fun outing taking the dogs to Petco, then through the Starbucks drive thru to get a dessert for their dogs. Morgan is 12 and Jayden's little mini twin. She likes to do anything she can with Jayden. It is sweet.
In the evening I took suppers out and got to ride with Mark in the combine,. That is a rare opportunity because eh rarely gets to drive it. Mark is professional and considerate with how he handles his employees.
He is very structured and organized. He likes to have a plan and stick to it.
His Dad on the other hand tends to complicate things and likes to control the situation when he is
involved. He kind of shakes things up and likes to have his own
agenda. The hired men put in long hours during harvest.
This week was no exception. Mark likes to quit for the night by 7 or 8 to let
everyone get rested for the next day. Yesterday, Corey left at 4 Am to drive to
Illinois to get a part. Then the men spend all afternoon tearing apart the combine
and putting it back together again. It was a late evening for them. Today Orrie
came out to the field around 6 PM and decided to run the combine and finish the
field. That meant quitting after 10PM. Everyone was beyond tired. He really enjoys showing his authority. I took a photo of the combine one day going down the field. it is a monster in size and the corn head spreads from one shoulder of the road to the other. you don't want to meet this machine going down the road!
