Agrigold

8/4/16 Mark and I went to Des Moines overnight for an Agrigold Platinum meeting. The farmers that purchase a large quantity of Agrigold seed are invited to attend. Mark also was recognized and received a nice Platinum award, a framed family photo. We had a very nice time and a little getaway. It was the weekend to ourselves with Orrie along, but it was still nice to getaway from all the interruptions at home. I spent Wednesday at the mall and did some shopping. I had all afternoon and took my time browsing all the stores. I searched for something that caught my eye, a cute outfit, dress, top, anything. I guess I must be really picky because I coud'nt find anything. I even made up my mind that price didn’t matter. I am a thrifty shopper and don’t like  to spend a lot, but today I wasn’t going to care if I found something I really liked. The purchases of my shopping outing ended up being socks, a belt, and pajamas for myself. If all else fails, I can always find new pajamas. I never have a problem finding clothes for the kids, I got them each a couple things. Shopping is so hard. In the evening there was a nice dinner that everyone was required to dress up for. I wore a little black dress and Mark a blue shirt and sports coat. The dinner was delicious and the speaker was a farmer and comedian. His key point was, life is short and you should make a point to laugh and make others smile everyday. Later we took a walk a few blocks downtown before heading back. I had been cold all day long. When it is in the 90’s outside like today, it is hard on me to go inside when the air condition is set at 70. The mall was cold, the hotel was cold, and I was cold. When we went for our walk, it was still pretty steamy outside. Mark thought it was hot and I finally didn’t have goosebumps. Thursday morning the men had breakfast at 6AM followed by more meetings. The spouses had a big breakfast at 8:30 followed by a short speaker. The weekend was over at noon and we headed to the Jordan Creek area to Johnny’s and had lunch. I roamed the mall again while Mark went to his Chiropractor appointment.

Back at home mom took Jacob home with her after she had stayed the night. I helped Jayden with a riding lesson to a little neighbor girl.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
