A Full Sunday

2/21/16 Our Sundays seem to get so filled that they are a day of rest. I don’t know what to do to change that unless we all stayed home and never got out of bed for the day. Ha. We were hospitality so that meant getting to church an hour and a half early. We were out the door by 8:30AM. On top of hospitality I was filling in for Jayden by being a lead teacher in the child care for 3,4, and 5 year olds. Jayden went to the Beef Expo, so mom took her spot. With 9 kids and an adult helper it was really not a problem. The kids were cute and fun at the adorable preschool age. Jake also was very helpful as my assistant. After church we took Allie and her boyfriend Ryan out to lunch at Colorado Grill. I had not met Ryan yet, but Mark has known him and in fact he helped work for Mark at one time. I have heard so many good things about him from Mark’s sisters and parents. That makes me feel good about him and I felt he was a very nice guy, polite and well spoken. He is very good to Allie, helping her out, driving her to work on bad weather days, taking her food at work, finding her a couch and delivering it to her new apartment, bought her Luke Bryan concert tickets, and a dozen roses for Valentine’s Day. I hope that she will treasure him and things will work out between the two of them. After lunch we had a little time before heading to the Boone Seven Oaks ski hill. At 3:00 the kids had a 4H club meeting followed by  tubing, skiing, and snowboarding. For the past week snow has been melting and not much remains. The ski hill still had enough to keep going. Mark stayed with the boys and skied. Jake did his own thing from skiing to tubing by himself. He was so bummed cousin Rylie did not come. I know Rylie wanted to go so bad, but his parents were busy from the Beef expo. Luke tried out snowboarding and it sounded like he got along fairly well for a first timer. Jayden was tired after being at the Beef Expo with Jaynie so curled up in a ball in the chair at home with her cat instead of skiing.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
