Week of 6/15- In the wee hours of
Monday, Luke was up about 6 times from 2-4:00 AM feeling nasueas. He thought he
was going to vomit. He never did, but Monday morning I made the decision to
sleep in and skip bible school. We were going to have to get up at 6:30 and I
wasn’t sure how Luke was going to feel. Having that one day to catch my breath was a Godsend!! I have been going and scrambling and fall into bed each night
feeling like I am running a marathon. To have a free day felt wonderful. I went
to town, got groceries, got horse feed,
took the dog to the vet, and rode my horse. It was a great day and
because of it I felt rejuvenated and ready to take on the rest of the busy
week. Thank you Lord.
My Aunt Rose is slowly coming out of her sedation and is making baby steps of progress, but we are all just thankful for progress. It has been a very scarey time. We don't know what the outcome will be, but just praying for a good one.
Cornerstone’s bible
school is this week,. We get up early each morning and are on the road at
7:45. Luke is in a fun group and is having a good time, Jayden helps
Kindergarten, and I help a group of 20 -1st and 2nd
graders. One boy in my group, whom I am to stay with, can have seizures. There
is also a difficult active child, there is one in every bunch! It is fun and
tiresome. Because he is too old to participate in Cornerstone’s bible school, Jacob
stayed with my parents and went to bible school all week in Kamrar. He enjoyed
riding shotgun with the driver, Mr. Phillips in the van each day. During his week he also got to help unload square bales. He enjoys his individual time at his
Grandparents. My Aunt Rose is slowly coming out of her sedation and is making baby steps of progress, but we are all just thankful for progress. It has been a very scarey time. We don't know what the outcome will be, but just praying for a good one.
After bible school, this week our Tuesday night ISU Rodeo club barrel race was a mud mess so we did not attend. I was thankful for the night off. We had Serpentine practice mixed with the rough stock riders bucking horse practice. Friday, Mark and I went out to dinner in Ankeny and drove through the car lot looking at new Tahoes. Saturday morning I got the kids out of bed again bright and early to make yet another trip to Ames. I could not convinve Mark to go. This time it was for a funraiser walk to support an organization that is trying to eliminate abortions. They have a clinic that is the opposite of Planned Parenthood. Informed Choices helps to educate, counsel, support, and give free medical help to pregnant mothers. They also have a mobile unit used for pregnancy screens. If a mother sees her ultrasound she has a much higher chance of keeping the baby. As the kids and I pulled into Ada Hayden for the walk, big rain drops started to fall. It got kind of cool too. Jayden and Luke were in tank tops and we all had on shorts, except for Jake in his boots and jeans of course. Thankfully within 5 minutes the rain stopped and we were on our walk. We made the mile walk around the little lake and did our part to support the organization. I think it is important for the kids to be involved and understand how we can help such a good cause. If there were more Informed Choices in this world and could get a fraction of the funding Planned PArenthood does, we could make a difference in so many babies lives.
Saturday evening was a Tuff N NUff rodeo in Dayton. It was a hot and humid day, but June heat is bearable to me. Its July and August heat I can’t tolerate. Jayden ran both Tex and Traveler. She ran Tex in the Super Seniors division and Traveler in open. With wide first barrels and a lot of extra contestants, she did not place. She still had fun and is learning from her runs and improving all the time. She just gets frustrated.
