Let's Talk Polotics

10/26/14For at least a month now, the television has been bombarded with political campaign ads. What really gets me is how they put out negative ads bashing one another. In this day, there is such a big deal made over bullying and teaching our children not to bully, yet all hours of the day on television that is exactly what the politicians are doing to one another and they are supposed to be our leaders. Not a good example. I can’t change the channel fast wnough when they come on. I tune them completely out and stop listening, but they are annoying! It has gotten so bad that I am tempted to unplug the television. Unlike most homes, we do not have cable television, so we cannot just change the channel. It is on every commercial one afer another. You also see it in magazines, tons of flyers in the mail, the radio, and even ads before you watch internet videos. There is also the aspect of money. These politicians campaign and want our money for support so they can use more money and more money to make more ads on tv. Just think of the amount of money that goes into these hideous ads on television. That is money that we could be putting to good use in our state. It is just plain nuts!  It is out of control and makes me not want to even vote.
People don’t like to talk politics or religion. It is very personal and stirs up some very defensive conversations. I have wanted to ask a democrat "Why do people who claim to be Christians, chose to be democrats?"
Now, for non-believers/atheists, I can totally get that and would expect it. On the other hand, if a person is a Christian, then I struggle to understand. As a Christian how do you vote democrat when there are such huge issues that God detests? How can you have a biblical outlook on the following? Let’s take gay marriage, it is so against what the bible says. God created Adam and Eve, Man and woman to become one in marriage to love and reproduce or bearing fruit and those children and in God's image. Two women or two men cannot do this.  I can’t help but think of the kids of this generation. The media is exposing our children to not only the issue of it, but the grotesque scenes. I have noticed since the gay marriage has been approved, it has affected television greatly. There are very few shows on television that don’t have gay scenes in them. It’s not just a casual topic anymore, its full out sexual lust and immorality. I monitor my kids television so much and still it creeps in. The news gets over and rolls right into a soap opera where two men are embraced in bed. Comedies make it aout to be cute and funny. It's just plain sick. Media is forcing it on everyone. Kids grow up with that, no wonder there so confused.
Abortion is the killing of an innocent child, the bible says thou shall not kill. The baby is a child that deserves to live. I will never understand abortion. There are so many parents in this world barren that would give anything to have a child and yet we dispose of them like a piece of trash.  I am a huge advocate for adoption. I would love to see loving parents adopt. It breaks my heart to see children waiting for a forever home. It makes me even sader to think a child should be eliminated becuase the birth mother just doesn't want it.
Democrats like to give second and third chances. Criminals get a second and third chance, and we saw the results of that with Kathlynn in our hometown of Dayton. I hear criminals all the time get off with little to nothing.
Democrats have passed laws removing God from school and they are trying to remove him from just about everything. Instead of teaching  creation and giving God credit for what he created, we have turned it into evolution. You can’t read a bible, say a prayer, sing Christian songs at concerts, or even mention the world Christmas. Well, what do people think we celebrate in December, a holiday of the coming of Santa. Really?? Ranks right up there with the Easter Bunny instead of the resurrection.
Without biblical teaching kids have no morals and values, no modesty in clothing, no abstinence in relationships, peer pressure is just being cool, no respect for parents and teachers due to no discipline at home. Oh the list goes on.
There are so many other things, but this is just a few that I struggle to understand.  The only thing that comes to mind are people that are not Christ followers. So when I hear that there are Christians that vote democrat, I just can’t comprehend. Please help me to understand. I have tried and tried to wrap my mind around it.  Am I missing something?
Proverbs 14:12
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Romans 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
Wrath- people are bringing it upon themselves.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
