The plan for the day was to go
to Living History Farms with the Ogden homeshool group. The day was only going to be in the 30’s and breezy. We just went from 60 and 70 degree
days. We were prepared to put on long underwear, hats, mittens, and winter coats. At the
last minute we took a vote and decided we should go on a nice warm day
ourselves. Today we thought of another plan. Luke was home from school and
it was field trip day. Plan B worked out great, we went to Merle Hay mall where
they have a wildlife exhibit in the mall. We went and explored the exhibit with
cougars, coyotes, skunk, raccoon, bears, and wolves. It was interesting to see all the critters. From there we did some shopping, and found some winter coats for the kids. Luke wanted to wear his costume all over the mall. He got a lot of comments and smiles. He loved the attention. On the way home we arrived in Ogden just in time for trick or treat. The kids really didn't care where we went as long as they got to go. It was so cold, they went door to door for about an hour. I would follow behind them in my car. They would jump inside freezing and warm up as we drove to the next block. Jayden was super helpful taking her brothers, holding hands and crossing the street, so responsible and helpful. The boys were adorable, Luke in his hot dog costume, Jake in his boom box radio that he thought up and made. After an hour, they were cold and wanted to be done. We made a stop at Linde and Julie's, then to Grandma's. The men were still working in the field.
