Just last
week we were attending the funeral of Sylvia, Janet’s mother. Today was the
funeral for Janet’s husband. What a hard time for Janet, I cannot imagine.
Jerry’s health has been bad for some years with his lungs. Mark, the kids, and
I attended the visitation. The kids all have fun memories from Jerry when he
helped with AWANA. He was fun loving and liked to tease the kids.
In the evening Mark went with us to the 4-H horse project meeting. One of the perks of a very rainy week is getting to spend lots of time with Mark. This was Jake’s first meeting and I was worried how it would go. It went well, Jacob did a great job with his horse, Winnie. It was a cool evening so there were only 3 kids that came to the meeting with horses. That made it easy for Jacob to ride. It was a confidence booster for Jake too. During the meeting the leaders would talk about how to do the walk/ trot class. They would point out things Jayden and Jacob were doing correctly. I think Jacob enjoyed himself. It was by far the longest he has been on his horse at one time. He was probably in the saddle over an hour, and he handled it well.
