Treetop Festival Country Concert

My parents friends, the Williams’ got numerous VIP tickets to a big country concert fest. My mom got four tickets for herself, Carina, Jayden, and I to go. Mom has been so excited about going and has talked about it for weeks. After taking Jaynie home, we got to my parents at 11. The boys stayed  with Grandpa and Alivia for the day. Carina drove and Judy and another Connie I had never met before rode with us. The event was called Tree Top festival in Forrest City. I have never been a VIP for a concert. It was pretty awesome and you did feel pretty VIP. Our tickets did not cost us anything, however those people who did pay for them paid $500 for the two day concert. So we were treated as if we spent that kind of money to be there. We had special up close parking. We had a reserved seating up close to the stage, we also had a standing area at the stage. You could get so close you could touch the singer if you wanted. We had a tent with unlimited buffet of really good food and drinks. They put out food for lunch and all new food for dinner. We even had our own portable bathroom. They were quit impressive with 3 separate stalls, flushing toilets, running water to wash hands and air condition. Sure beats the kybos the rest of the thousands had to share. It was pretty neat. We met up with the rest of Mom’s friends who spent a lot of their time in a shade spot under the tent. The sun was shinning and around 80 degrees. It was a nice day to be outside. There were several singers I did not know. The highlight was seeing Brad Paisley perform. The crowd was pretty excited to see him and we stood about 15 feet from him. He had a catwalk he would come down and be even closer. It was very cool and he can play the guitar like a rock and roller. The speakers were huge and incredibly loud. I could not hear anyone if they tried talking to me. I guess I am old when I had to stuff cotton in my ears. That was by far the closest I have ever been to a singer at a concert. I think Jayden was in awe of everything. Grandma drug her up as close as she could get her to the stage to really experience it all. She stayed pretty close to me and took it all in. We had a fenced in area that was not too crowded. When you turned and looked behind you there were thousands of people standing in a mass crowd. If you look really hard in the picture of the three of us , in the corner you can see Brad P. We also got a sneak peek of Scotty McCleary. The plan was to leave by 8. Somehow the ladies were ready to leave at 6. We left before the crowds got too crazy, so I was ok with that. It was a cool experience and I am glad to have the opportunity to go. We sure felt important for the day.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
