Animal Kingdom

Each morning I stepped outside the room to see what the morning temp feels like. It has been so pleasant at 7:30 in the morning. Today was a shorts kind of day. I only packed one pair of shorts per person thinking we wouldn’t likely wear them. It turned out to be another beautiful day up to 80. We arrived to Animal Kingdom early before the park opened and waited inside. Once the main ropes were dropped there was a steady flow of people to the Safari ride where we were heading. There were teams of cheerleaders, bands, and soccer teams in town going to the parks in groups of 100. It was crazy. Everything was so busy for this time of year, the slow season.  The safari ride was super neat, all the animals were out and in full view. They were munching on their morning feeding. Elephants, hippos, rhino, giraffes, and many more. The giraffes came right up along side our jeep. Mark split up to go on his ride Mt. Everest. The roller coaster daring rides were just too much for Jayden and Jacob yet. The boys played in the Dinosaur playland enjoying climbing and playing in rocky sand.  We met for lunch and ate at Yak and Yetti’s an Asian cuisine. We went to the Lion King show. Then we wnet to find characters. There was word that Pluto was in the park and that was the one and oly character he was excited to see and couldn't wait to find him. He was awful cute, gave him big  hugs and got his picture taken. We also got to see Mickey Mouse in his jungle safari shirt similar to the one Luke had on. We found Balu and King Luey from the Jungle Book. These two wer quite funny. The tease and joke the kids. The monkey acted like he was picking bugs out of Jake's hair and would make toot sounds. Jake really got a chuckle out of them.
The big kids and Mark went to a Bug’s Life 3D show while Luke and I played in the boneyard some more.  We cut our day at this park short so we could spend time at the resort pool. It was just too nice out not to swim. The resort has 3 pools. The main pool is the most fun complete with a  little water slide. Jacob told me he would rather swim than ride anymore rides. Luke isn’t big on the water. He stands at the stairs and holds on to the rail and splashes around, never really gets all the way in. I got in and swam with Jayden and Jacob. It was so refreshing.  Jake is in his own little world in the water. He likes to swim under water and never gets tired. The kids even did some dancing to music along with the lifeguards.  After cleaning up we went to Downtown Dinsey for the evening. One of the cool things about our resort is we get to take a boat to downtown. It was very busy and crowded. It seemed the later it got the more people you saw and less clothing, as in they got skimpier for the night life. We decided to eat a simple meal at a quick service fish and chips place. This was the least expensive meal we had all week  and all ordered water, except Dad’s tea he HAS to have, and we still spent $50. We looked in some of the shops but everything was so crowded. Mark and the boys checked out lego land. Luke is always attached to my hip holds my hand, sits against me when we eat, and " I" have to push the stroller.   It was another late night to bed.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
