Class of 93 Reunion

2023 was our 30 year class reunion! Paula, Jess, and I came up with the idea to tailgate for the ISU Iowa football game. Later, we decided against it. So, we asked the classmate's for ideas. Dan P and family have a place on Clear Lake and invited our class to all meet there to hang out. Paula, Jess, and I decided to meet up the day before for two reasons, one we wanted to get together for a little girl time, and two Jess had to leave first thing Saturday and wouldn't get to be there much. The three of us met and had a great time catching up and spent the night at Dan's chatting with his wife. Matt and Dan and their wives were more than accommodating and happy to let us stay. They have a great cabin/house that they renovated from an old cabin. It is ideal for their families and kids to enjoy. They spend almost every weekend during the summer there together. Matt and his family drive all the way from St. Louis. Brother Jacob also has a house that he shares with their parents. Jacob has done well with his business and likes to show his belongings. He has a great place to stay with a fixed up garage made into a party room, a nice sporty car, and a speed boat. He took us all out in his boat over the weekend. We didn't expect a big turn out, but were really hopeful more would come. We had a very poor turnout for the guys in our class, which was too bad. Anthony and his wife Erin came. For the girls, Jolene and Abby came. So 8 out of 34 is not a great turn out, but we all had such a good time! The weather was awesome sunny and warm. We had a short walk to a local tiki bar where we ate, then had an evening boat ride, and sat around the party garage for drinks and music. It is always fun to reminisce the school days, teachers, friends, sports, and funny memories. The following day was all about the lake. We took the boat out and jet skiis. There were two jet skiis and Dan and I each took one out. That was ablast riding all around. Jolene was the only one that wanted to try a jet ski ride and had never been on one before. I gave her a ride around and she really enjoyed it.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
