Little Girls

10/4 We got home so late and were up earlier than we all wanted to to start our day. The adorable sound of little girls in the house woke us all. It was worth it. Their little voices trying to talk quietly while playing was a sound I have not heard in this house for a long time. Darrel and Lauren's girls are so very cute and sweet. They were up playing, searching the house for the cat, and finding toy instruments to play throughout the house. Everyone was awake before 8. The boys got up and ready in a hurry to head to the "Cruise to The Woods" car show. Jake hopes to someday take his Oldsmobile in it. Today he went with Nate, the mechanic he works with. Luke went with Mich, who works for us.

Jayden finished packing and we all went to Karen's for brunch. She fixed eggs, sausage, and pancakes for our families and Terje and Elaine who have been staying for the week. We had a small visit and breakfast before heading home to see Jayden off. Mark washed her windows in her truck inside and out, I loaded a cooler with some food. We gave lots of hugs and watched as the big rig pulled out with horses once again. It is always nice having her home and the time goes fast. She misses home when she is in Oklahoma and misses Oklahoma when she is home. I wish she were closer and I never like seeing her lave alone.

Mark and I were occupied after Jayden left with Darrel's family. The little girls were loving every bit of being on the farm. It was the perfect fall day with sunshine and warmth. It had been so cold lately, it was a nice change. Mark had the girls sit in the combine while he drove it out of the shop and unfolded the corn head. They were in awe and said it was "Awesome". They came to the house and I gave them rides on Ace. They were all smiles and enjoyed it very much. They also really like the chickens, so they helped me feed them and gather the 2 eggs. Reese held on to her egg and ended up taking it home with her. Quin's got cracked so she got to throw hers and see it splat. They also fed the cats, played with the dogs, picked apples, and played on the monkey house and tire swing. Quin asked if it would be ok to come again sometime. I think they had fun!

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
