Thanksgiving Break

Jayden was home for an entire week for Thaksgiving. She had classes on the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, but chose to skip, which allowed her to head home on Friday the week before after her last class. She drove with her freind Brody to Kansas City where she drove on home with her two horses. While home we did some shopping, drove to Prairie City to get custom leather work done and then out to eat at Olive Garden. We also did some riding in the arena.

Thanksgiving this year was a record breaking crowd. We had over 40 people in Karen and Orries house. Usually we are crowded and stepping over each other with our immediate family of 25. This was crowded and loud. We had all the immediate family, which rarely happens with other family gatherings and work schedules. We added in distant relatives, Susie, Kallie, Chan, and Chelsea, the triplets Kimberly, Karla, and Kellie, along with Karley and Melanie. Doug and Donaleen and Lavern and Verna Mae. My parents came, the Dozier family, and Nancy Ferrari. It was the biggest bunch yet. We had a ton of food and everyone ate and visited into the evening.
I took a photo of all the younger generation of girls. They are all cousins, plus Chandler's fiance Chelsea. They are such a beautiful bunch of girls. I am anticipating some beautiful babies in the next few years.  Later in the day, a few went to play basketball at the shop. Jake got the basketball hoop set up in the shop earlier this week and was excited to finally get to use it. He had so much fun and played for hours with the cousins.

On Black Friday I arranged a movie outing. 6 years ago several of us went to the movies to see Frozen on Black Friday. Since part two was out, I though it would be fun to go again. I sent a message out to all the relatives. The triplets, Kim, Kellie, Karla, and Melanie joined us. I never even got a response from the Ferrari's and Anderlik's other than Jossie who was bummed she had to work. It was fun to just get together and do something a little out of the ordinary. We all got to sit in the luxury recliners with the adjustable seats and heaters. This was Kimberly's first time coming back to Thanksgiving in Iowa for 16 years. She was so happy to be back and her health is in bad shape. She has something called Stiff Person disease. It reminds me a little of my cousin Angie and the ataxia condition she had. She was all stiff and could barely walk after the movie. We had to help her out and into her car. It was so hard to see her like that, I pray she can get better. She was determined to keep going and joined us at Hickory Park. Suzy came to eat out with us too. She had stayed with the Anderlik's and slept in. It was fun to get together and see Mark's cousins.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
