Ali brought Bridget and Andrew to spend the night with us. I kept the video games off so they could play. They liked tumbling and I pulled out a mat and helped them with some things. Both kids can do a head stand and hand stands. Andrew is quite good at it. The boys played little tractors and I got out some American girl dolls and clothes. Bridget already has three of the dolls and brought one of her own. She likes to brush her dolls hair the most. She likes to keep busy and told me she was bored as soon as we finished one activity. She told me she likes math and I printed some pages for her to do. She thought that was fun and wanted to do more. She also picked out a Dear America book from my collection to read. Andrew loves to follow the boys and do whatever they do. He played guitar with Luke and tried to learn a chord. He played little tractors, crawling many yards across the floor covering the living room floor disking and ripping. It still makes me laugh when they refer to them as Uncle Luke and Uncle Jake. There was also some doctoring with all three kids. I put the movie, "Polar Express"on a 8:00 and they were alseep by 10.
--Jayden traveled home from Alva today. Her good friend Brody rode with her to Kansas City where his mom met him. It was just before 10PM when Jayden pulled in with the big trailer and her two horses. It is always such a relief when she is home safe and sound. That giant trailer and hauling hours on interstates going 75/85 scares me so much. The sound of the big rig pulling in is music to my ears.
--Jake had his first night of freedom as a 16 year old with a license. After school, he took his friend David to Boone. They went to McDonalds, tossed a football around in Walmart, and ended up going roller skating in Ogden. He had so much fun.
--Mark was not in the best of moods, ate supper with us, took a bath and watched football in his room. I felt bad that he really didn't interact with the kids much.
--On Saturday Mark asked Jake to do a hard dirty job. He was to clean out the rolling baskets on a Salford that was caked heavily in mud. He worked hours, called in his buddy David to help, and Luke worked some too. We even had Andrew help briefly. It was a messy job and in my opinion, a job for several grown men.
Bridget and Andrew slept in until I woke them at 9. We had Sweedish pancakes and we made homemade playdoh. Both kids really liked that and got to take some home.
Mark changed his plans so he could join Jayden at her barrel race. She was feeling bad that she would finally get to run near home and nobody would be there to see her. So, Mark changed his plans so he could go. She ran Joker in Elkhart around noon. It wasn't a good day for her. I know she wants to impress her dad and that didn't happen for her. She knocked first barrel and almost second with wide turns. She had been doing so well with him, this was so discouraging. We all wish she could have a solid consistent horse and make nice runs. It's hard to see her put so much work and try and not have good runs.
