I dont take the time to blog much. It's been a busy time as is every season of the year. Here is some of what has been happening lately. Last Wednesday I helped Jayden move out of her dorm.
She has been so helpful. She has helped take Luke to his horse project meetings. She picks up around the house, helps with meals, makes grocery store runs, and does errands. It is so nice having her home. She also bring so much silliness and laughter. It is nice after the daily grind and refereeing the boys.
The weather has been the worst this entire year. We get one sunny warm day that might hit upper 60 to 70's and then we get frequent cool 50 degree rainy windy days. Mark is beyond happy that he got all his crops planted and can sit back and watch it grow. I am so glad and thankful too. He pushed hard, he went long hours and didn't stop until they were done. I do however feel bad for those still waiting on sunshine and dry ground to get back in the field, which is the majority. Each day that goes by is crucial to getting good yields in the end. About the time it dries out, more rain comes in and cold temps. It hasn't been a nice spring at all. I pack away the winter gear only continue bringing out the warm coat and sweatshirts.
Saturday night our neighbor had a graduation party receiving his DVM. We attended the party held in their horse barn and arena. They have 4 horses in fancy clean stalls with controlled climate and spotless clean. We had great food and Margo planned some games. Their family was originally from Oregon and had many vets back to celebrate with them. Jayden met a man named Dr. Solomon.
He is a well renowned vet who is well known in the barrel racing industry. He was intrigued to hear about Jayden's horse Ace. He was bound and determined to help her out and even offered to come to our house the next day to see Ace for himself and give him a lameness exam. Of course we didn't want to turn down such an awesome opportunity, yet we didn't want to take him away from his weekend and his plans. He was more than willing and on Sunday morning while the rest of us went to church, Dr. Solomon checked Ace over along with Erich. It was entertaining to hear Jayden tell all about it and how awkward poor Erich was with the horse and the lameness exam. She said he was out of breath and out of shape and could barely hold the horse's leg up.He will have to get whipped in shape to start practicing.
Sunday was mother's day so we had dinner at Karen's for Mother's Day. I don't like doing mother's day with one mom and not the other and sometimes I like to do something with the kids for mothers day. It rarely seems to work out for everyone. We had dinner and I requested the kids help Grammer and do dishes. It must have wore them out, because they were all ready for a group nap after that. We attended the Graves twins graduation party held in Dolliver park. It was a decent day so Mark and I took a walk at the park.It was chilly, I had to pull out a coat and gloves. The park was so muddy and evidence of heavy flooding was everywhere.
