Rants

6/20/17 A couple complaints. I rarely watch the news on television anymore. I haven’t much since the last presidential elections once Trump was elected, the news has never stopped complaining. Not one day goes by without hearing about Trump. The media is so saturated with democrat liberals and their strong opinions. Its constantly democrat versus republican. I feel the media has caused so much hate. Every day there is more and more media brain washing people into seeing how bad things are and pointing the blame. It scares me to see the hate people have developed towards one another. We have political views, racial and homosexual views that are so very different. Mark compares the media to a group of terrorists trying to destroy our country. If it continues at this rate, we may see a civil war. How terrifying.

On a lighter note, fidget spinners. I just don’t get it. The latest fad is a little trinket that spins. They hit the shelves in mass quantities and you can find them in any and every store and only cost a few dollars. It is intended for kids with ADD or autism. They are supposed to be something they can fiddle with and touch in order to help them stay focused and concentrate. It is said that it helps the average kid because they are constantly needing entertained and crave computers and video games and somehow these fidget spinners help them keep their mind busy. They literally sit and watch it spin. I think it is ridiculous! Kids have become fascinated with them and are buying them right and left as the must have item. I think they are foolish. I just don’t understand the fascination. In fact I think they are going to cause more problems than good. I see kids becoming addicted and distracted to this silly little toy. I told the kids we would not be getting one. Luke really wanted one and asked several times for one. He begged the right person and sure enough Grandma went and got one for him. Funny how the Grandparents cave so easily. They are inexpensive, but that isn’t the point. Luke had it one day and already is driving me bonkers. I think they will figure out after this silly fad has ended that it will create problems with kids. That and they will no longer be selling them in a year. Just wait.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
