6/21/17 Mark went in for hip surgery and had to be at the
hospital at 6AM and was in surgery by 7. I made numerous trips to the clinic
pharmacy that was on the other side of the hospital down a long hall. Throughout
the day, the pharmacy caused us the most delays. The nurse had us
expecting to leave around noon and it ended up being 2:30. Finally we were
headed home. Mark didnt lose his appetite and ordered a full Chik Fil A meal and milkshake for the ride home. He rested the rest of the day
and slept pretty well at night. I was surprised at how well he was getting
along. Jayden was my taxi for the day and took her brothers to swim lessons then to the Ames water park for awhile. She is so responsible and such a great big sister!
6/24/17 Mark hasn’t had to take any pain medicine for 24 hours. That is great! I am so glad he is doing so well. 24 hours after his surgery he was getting in and out of his chair and was feeling pretty good. He says his pain is at a 4, but I think 4 for him is a little pain. He still spends all day in the chair, watches countless hours of television and scrolls through facebook and markets. I think he is enjoying his time of rest and being served round the clock. I had him go out and sit in a lawn chair outside in the sunny 70 degree day. If it wasn’t so windy, it would be about perfect out. We sat in our chairs and enjoyed the beautiful blue sky and farms to the west. It is lovely, but it wont be long and all the will be congested with wind turbines. It is so sad to lose our beautiful scenery to more man made power.
