Pony, Valentine Box, Art Class

The week started with a 50 degree day. I was so excited to get outside and enjoy it. . The wind was blowing so to me it was not a nice 50 degree day, I was cold the whole time I was out. I was anticipating warm and didn’t have a heavy enough coat.  We had a new little horse the neighbors were letting us try out. Jake got to ride her for the first time today. Luke rode her on Saturday. I think he likes her and he got along well with her. She is little and cute, but has her own little attitude too. She has separation anxiety and gets real nervous when alone.. We had a vet check and she didn’t pass with flying colors, but she is a teenager (10-15), could gain quite a bit of weight, and will need some work, but all in all I think she will be a fit. Jayden rode every day this week except for the weekend. I did some riding too. Friday night the kids spent the night with my parents. My high school was having the very last basketball game and alumni recognition. We had plans, so Jayden took my place as a mini me and went with Grandma. During their stay Luke, Grandma and Grandpa built a John Deere harvestor Valentine box. Now that is one of a kind and I bet there isn’t another one anywhere like it. He has such a crafty Grandma and clever Grandpa. It turned out really cute.  Mark and I went out on a friends date. Mark went to see a war movie with Dan, while Angelia and I went to a wine and canvas painting class. We enjoyed painting and visiting. I thought the painting was fun and relaxing and I hope to do it again. Throughout the week, we had pretty nice weather getting all the way up to 50. By Friday it dropped to upper 30 and by Saturday the snow storm ……. The snow started in the evening with some nice pretty white flakes. By morning we were in some deep snow. Out the windows it looked like a winter wonderland. Heavy amounts of snow stuck to tree limbs and drifts and piles were in the yard. We were fortunate not to lose power. It did flicker and go out a few times but only for a few seconds. We got around 8 to 10 inches when it was all over. The snow stuck around for a long time.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
