Faith

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. It is by faith we understand that the whole world was made by God's command so what we see was made by something that cannot be seen. Faith in God is a gift one must choose to see.
Our three children are in different places in their faith. Jayden has had a strong faith and belief in Christ since a very young age. She has grasped some big deep topics with questions and finding answers. She reads God’s word and soaks in as much as she can from the bible, sermons, and youth group. She understand what it means to be a Christ follower. She is what I would call grounded in her faith. Jacob is full of questions; he is confused and has doubts. He hears the Old Testament bible stories and questions how these things could have really happened. He cannot wrap his mind around the fact that anyone, even Jesus could possibly be without sin. His mind is always thinking and questioning. He can see a big difference in people who have Christ in their lives and those that do not. He sees God's amazing work in all that he created and in people's lives.  We pray that his questions and doubts will lead his heart to have a strong relationship with Christ. Luke has the most awesome child like faith. If the world had his child like faith, oh what a wonderful place it would be. He shows love and is full of joy. He prays big prayers thanking God for sending his son. He tells me all the time he loves me so very much, but that he loves God even more. He is excited when he hears stories from the bible and does not have any doubts. At a very young age he can see Christ in people. As with everyone, there will come a point when you have to have faith 100% on your own, without family. I know that each one of our kids will cross that bridge in his life when he has to decide on his own. I wish child like faith could last forever.  We are praying for our children’s salvation and walk with Christ. As parents this is the most important thing we can instill in our kids.  Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
