The week after the fair was super hot and Jayden was still hurting. It was a good week to stay home, stay in and rest. I am thankful with the heat and her pain we had nothing planned. It was the only week this summer like that. I took Jayden to the dentist last week as she could tell her pain was feeling more like tooth. We took her to the pediatric dentist she has gone to in the past. I just have not been happy with the Midwest Boone dentist we had tried. He put three fillings in and the tooth causing pain is one he filled. Today the dentist took x-rays and couldn't see anything major, but wanted her to see an entodontist. After meeting with him, it was certain she needed a root canal. I was surprised and disappointed. In the past 2 days she was feeling relief. I thought she was all better. It turns out her tooth was full of infection and in a matter of days it would have abscessed, which is very painful. Jayden had shots and no nitrous or any other sedative. She walked out proud that it didn't hurt and she felt fine. An hour later the pain kicked in and she was hurting. Just over the counter pain meds. and her antibiotics is all they suggested and soon her pain was under control. It was a long day for her. In this day and age, a root canal cost $950 and that is part one. They also want her to get a crown, a 2 step procedure costing another $1000. Can't believe how much to fix a tooth and our dental insurance won't cover any of it. The dental insurance is probably the reason this all happened. I started our family on a new dental plan. The Boone dentist was a provider so I thought we could all try him. Jayden, Mark, and I all had appointments and all had fillings. All three of us experienced pain afterwards and ultra snesitivity for a long time. Jayden had problems with the tooth she had to have repaired since March. You know the rest of the story.
