Prom

Luke attended his first prom as a Sophomore with his Junior girlfriend Abby. They started talking and attending youth group together in February. Her mother like me, limited how often they got to see each other. After a month and a half, Luke officailly asked her to be his girlfriend in person with flowers. He is such a romantic little gentlemen. When they talked in Feburary, they decided on going to prom together within a few days and then got to know each other. I went with Luke to meet her when he had to sign papers to attend her prom. She seemed very cute and giggly. Later we invited her to come to the house to meet us and Mark and I sat out around the fire pit and talked. It was awkward to say the least. Luke saw very little of his new freind other than youth group. Before long it was prom. Luke got measured for his tux and picked it up by himself. On prom night, I was invited by the other moms to come for the piture session. They knew I had a "good camera" eventhough the iphones take better pictures than my camera anymore. Luke left thehouse before lunch and said he would see me later he was going to get ready at Abby's house. That made me a little sad that I would miss out on seeing Luke get ready and taking those photos at home. The photo session was at the Laramar Ball Room in Fort Dodge. i had never been there and was excited to see it and to see all the kids dressed up. I thought it was just going to be Luke's group of 6, however the location was the spot for many others. Oneof the moms had already planned how she wanted to set up for photos in front of the bar with fancy glasses. I personally did not care for the bar scence for a bunch of high school kids.  Ut was fun to see Abby's personailty come out and to see Luke all dressedup in a tux. He looked adorable and he and his date made the cutest couple. The orange dress and tie were really a good color choice and the blue tux looked so sharp on Luke. They went on and had supper and I headed to the gym for the grand march. Mark and his parents drove to it but never made it inside the gym. It was just too musy for Orrie with his new knee. I was sad Mark missed it all. My parents were there for the grand march too. From there the kids had rpom and after prom games food and activities. Luke said he enjoyed it and was glad he went.

Volleyball

Jake  went with Karen after school and to the field. My mom, Luke and I went to Jayden’s  Volleyball game in Coon Rapids.  They played 4 games all losses. They were not having a good serving night and that really hurt them.  Still enjoy watching them learn.

Treasures

In the morning we took 3 of our 4 cats to the vet for shots. The 4 th cat decided to wander this morning missing his appointment. On our way out, we passed a rummage sale and stopped. We got some major treasures for next to nothing. The church ladies were so fascinated with Jacob's interest in old radios and televisions. They just adored him and marked the prices way down and gave him some for free. We loaded up on kids books, got some board games, and a few other treasures. Jake ended up with a mini  television , an old radio and Polaroid camera. After lunch the boys went straight to the field. My friend Carolyn and her daughter Tabby came to ride horses. What started out to be a chilly day 45, turned out nice and sunny. We had coats on, but it was a great day to ride. We rode through our hay patch and along the waterway near the highway. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Dayton Fun Show

It has been cold and windy for the past week, highs of 45. Today the sun was shinning and it got up to 60. There was one final horse show for the season at the Dayton arena. We took Jayden and Jacob while Luke went with Grammer and Po and was supposed to come later. It was a fun show geared for practice and the kids. Jake did really well on Winnie, he rode in walk and trot, barrels, and poles. He did some loping. Jayden did pleasure, milk can, barrels, poles, and a jumping event. Her horse Tex really jumps high for the jump event. Down in the arena, there was'nt any wind and the sun came out. It made for a nice day.
