Jayden is realizing how being a mama is a lot more work than she ever imagined. She bought so many cute clothes, onesies, outfits, blankets and things for the baby. After a few clothing changes in a few hours, she quickly discovered convivence is way better than looking cute. She gave up the western name brand items for practical and easy. She is taking on a large load. She has Noah's help, but not like she needs. He will help her with a feeding or a diaper, but she is trying to do it all and its weighing her down. She takes care of Colt 24/7 and is exhausted from the abnormal sleep. She does the laundry, figures out food, and is trying to work her business.
Jayden hasn't had the easiest first 8 weeks of motherhood. It definitely could have gone easier for her. She had the added stress of trying to finish building a house and having to live in her in -house. 8 days after Colt was born, she had to have emergency surgery which set her back and already had complications from the birth. She was nursing from the beginning and supplementing with a couple ounce bottle after. Once she had the surgery her milk slowly stopped. She worked on keeping baby awake during the daytime to help with the night sleeping. Even at 8 weeks, he still goes in spurts of long awake times in the night hours, sometimes 2 to 3 hours. During the daytime he also doesn't sleep long or consistent.. Jayden is always exhausted and doesn't eat well. She is not in her own home/kitchen and finds it hard to cook for herself with Colt being so needy. She survives on pb&J and cold meat sandwiches. Noah will often bring home late supper. Jayden is alone a lot! Noah is at the shop all day and spends his nights playing video games with his brother. His parents will leave for a week at a time. Jayden is alone so much and spends most of her day in the bedroom with Colt. She has been working a couple days a week getting out of the house and has her two girls work with her. She enjoys that time even though most of that time is spent trying to settle Colt, feed him, change him, and hold him so he isn't crying. Around 6 weeks, Jayden started using a baby wrap and has him wrapped around her front and cuddled in. She will take him for a walk, clean, and work her business and he sleeps. She has found that is the only way he will sleep when she has tried everything else. She is a trooper and she is amazing on so many levels and super resilient. I couldn't do half of what she does. I pray for her so often and hope that things will get easier for her.
