Jaker

Jake has been working at Peterbilt. He likes his weekend when he doesn't have to get up early and sleeps as long as he can. He can get some pretty crazy bed head. Jake has lots of friends and is always going places and doing things. He has taken some of his buddies to SALT at the Ames church, but he doesn't enjoy the big crowd and loud crazy college students. Once in awhile he gets there. I am glad he has lots of buddies to do things wiht. He values friendships and is a genuine reliable friend!

Birthday babies

Kitt and Lace celebrated their birthdays together and will probably forever. Their birthdays are 364 days apart, making them what is called Irish Twins. Last year Kitt was born the day Jossie was planning to have Lace's first birthday. It was a rough several months as Kitt was a NICU baby and Jossie a protective mama. For the 1st birthday of Kitt and 2nd birthday of Lace, family gathered at the community center in Dayton. Jossie got the girls a giant jumpy house and had it set up for the little kids to play in. She made them cakes and had lunch served. It was a nice party with lots of family. Those little girls got so many gifts, I don't think they will need another thing for the next 5 years.  It will be fun to see the two grow up together. Jossie already buys them the cutest outfits and they are always dressed from hair piece to shoes. I know the girls have the cutest outfits, but I couldn't resist the matching outfits I found(Pictured below). Lace had the dress and Kitt

February

We had Karen and Orrie over for dinner for their anniversary. Here is a nice winter photo of the semi as the snow is falling. 2/26/24 we broke a record for the warmest day in February. Wow, what a day for February! We hit 79 degrees and it was lovely. We had some wind, but the sun and warmth was great. We broke a record for the nice temperatures. A typical February in Iowa is likely to be in the teens and twenties. Today was like an Iowa June day. It isn't going to last long, we are going to drop into the single digits overnight and snow is headed in. I tried to soak in the day by opening all the doors to the shop, garage, and arena and let the warm air blow in. I got Bucky and Joker out and groomed them and rode Joker. What a great day! In Texas, Jayden took Colt out for a stroller ride on a Texas 90 something day! Titus came and spent the day. He is always so sick. His nose ran and he coughed a lot. He gets his tonsils out soon! He has a favorite book that we look at and read ove

Thank God I Do

This is my new favorite song and may be my favorite of all. I love everything about it.           Thank God I do, by Lauren Daigle I've seen love come and   I've seen love walk away So many questions    Will anybody stay? It's been a hard year    So many nights in tears All of the darkness     Trying to fight my fears Alone, so long alone    I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know You I'd probably fall off the edge     I don't know where I'd go if You ever let go So keep me held in Your hands      I've started breathing The weight is lifted here         With You, it's easy My head is finally clear      There's nothing missing When You are by my side   I took the long road But now I realize        I'm home with You, I'm home I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know You I'd probably fall off the edge        I don't know where I'd go if You ever let go So keep me held in Your hand

Winter Travels 2024 Fl and TX

Our winter travels took us to a few destinations. The first part of our winter trip was to Florida. Mark fell in love with Marcos Island, so he chose the location to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. I planned the trip to see our friends that moved to Florida and visit our baby Colt too.  Our 5 Days in Marcos were quiet, peaceful, and restful. We had perfect weather everyday. We would wake in the mornings, pick a spot on the beach in a lounge chair with an umbrella, then take a walk on the beach. The sand was white and sea shells scattered the edge of the shore. Many people walked in search of shells all day. The area was 70% snowbirds. I enjoyed a morning walk, then I would plant myself in the beach chair with a book and read, nap, walk, and repeat until the sun went down. Mark told me over and over prior to our trip that he just wanted to do a whole lot of nothing. He got his wish, but not in the best way. He spent a good portion of the trip feeling crummy with a nasty head cold. Some
